I cannot believe I've never reviewed my favourite bakery. I guess when you've been a regular at an establishment for over 30 years, it just becomes 'literally' almost a daily staple of your foodie life that you just take for granted, but the reason for the review trigger specifically today, is the latest creation from Toni. My daughters have grown up on Gingerbread cottage birthday cakes and no birthday would be complete without one, so it's only natural that my eldest turning 21 would include the tradition of a Gingerbread cottage birthday cake. As a regular of this place, it's pretty normal for me to order birthday cakes with simple sizes, and colours and give them total carte blanche to do as they wish, and it's also a given that the results would be bang on point, but the latest Toni creation was that little extra special, fitting of any young persons 21st birthday and as it was really busy in the shop yesterday, I didn't get to show my appreciation to Toni, and therefor felt she deserved a personal review into the Google review history books permanently.Making cakes for special occasions is a very important part of that occasion and without it, that occasion just wouldn't be complete, so thank you Toni for this latest cake and all the previous ones, and all the ones I'm pretty sure you will be doing in the future, you're a star baker.PS.It goes without saying, the cobs are always fantastic, the staff are all always jolly and very attentive and this place will always be the highlight of my working day.

Toni at Gingerbread Cottage made a 3-tier cake for our wedding for approx 100 people. It turned out brilliantly - it looked fantastic (especially the sugar roses) and tasted delicious. Would especially recommend the lemon drizzle choc orange flavours which we had for our top two tiers.

Absolutely phenomenal family business! Everyone is sooo incredibly nice-- and oh my word, I thought I made nice cakes! These are amasing-- I mean, tasty, light, fluffy and not too sweet that it treads on being sickly! They could seriously rename themselves the 'Heavenly Cake Shop'. Top marks-- dont think I'll ever make another birthday cake again! ;-)

Absolutely wonderful place! Amazing value for money, all freshly made on site, friendly staff and delicious bread, cakes and biscuits. Our family have been frequenting for years and will continue for years to come. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I placed an order for two chocolate sponge cakes for a birthday. On collection they said they only had one sponge cake left. The one sponge cake looked squashed and not very appealing. It was too late to make other arrangements for a cake. The women on the phone and in the shop didn’t seem to care and wasn’t very apologetic. A very bad experience and won’t be buying from here again
