We had several stop ins at the Jacob's Inn on our way down and up the Thames on a narrow boat. The staff are amazing from the bar staff to the kitchen staff. The ambiance is magnificent and the food is superb. Love the animals including goats chickens and pigs and a cat. Staff are from various countries and a delight.

We tried to get parking nearby but it was just impossible as most of the side roads are permit holders only. Only alternative is parking in the middle of the town centre at the muti-storey car parking or doing the park and ride option. Very annoying to be honest as either of those options will result in a moderate walk. Each to their own I guess but if you want to eat somewhere reputable like this maybe a slight challenge.

Fantastic and quirky pub. I dropped in on a cold Tuesday morning and they had a roasting fire going and a good turn out. The pub is packed with character - even the toilets look like they came from a Victorian mansion! They have pigmy goats in the large beer garden and plenty of comfy seats, great selection of drinks and a menu for everyone.

A wonderful gastro pub with a warming interior and spacious garden seating to choose from. The chicken pie was incredible, as was their strawberry gin. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit hard, however I did order it towards the end of the night - judging by the rest of the food, I suspect it is normally much better than the serving I had.

Love this place. I’ve only ever been for drinks so cannot comment on the food, however the do appear to have vegan and vegetarian options. Really enjoyed having drinks here, whether a morning/afternoon coffee or a cocktail or glass of wine in the evening. There is a lovely big garden terrace area. The staff are very friendly and professional.

Under new ownership. Soon to be called The Wolvercote. The lady behind the bar was very friendly. Clearly the place is in a state of flux/transition but I wish them very well as it's a nice place in a great spot and has lots of potential.

The mussels they have here are absolutely amazing. The biggest and best I’ve ever had. The pie also had the best pastry I’ve ever had.

What a great pub. Very dog friendly with a big beer garden. Very trendy feel to the whole place and right next to a huge meadow next to the river Thames that you can walk your dog in. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was happy and fun. Great place to bring children as there is a good park right on the opposite side of the road. Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 stars is because the food was slightly cool when it got to us (the waitress thought we were outside but we were in the bar area) and then the red wine sauce didn't pack the flavourful punch I was expecting and it was very watery so I found that it totally let down the meal. If the sauce to the pie was thicker and had more flavour then this would of definitely had a 5/5 rating from me!!

We had a nice meal here. There is a nice atmosphere inside with all different antique items placed around the pub. The food itself was well presented. The Caesar Salad was particularly large and the Guinea Fowel was tasty. Service was quick and we didn't have to wait long for our food at all. The staff were courteous and polite too. Two things I would mention are the Eton Mess could have had more strawberries on it. Also a service charge of 12.5% was automatically added to the bill for four people. We did tip, but would like to choose our own amount.

The atmosphere was lovely, but food was not really good. My BBQ pork rib was served not even warm (I would not say cold either) and was bit hard and dry to eat. Pulled pork burger was also served not that warm.. If I had experience until this moment, I may leave more stars. However, we had strawberry cake that the edge of it was purple-blue coloured (???????) and the 3 scoops of ice cream taste weird.. and also served half melted... the orange ice cream was served as melt... my partner who had this ice cream had stomachache and sickness afterward... Dessert? Not recommended. Also I should mention the service was not very professional. The lady with twin bun was very good, nothing to say, but young chap had very poor service.... He went to wrong table to serve (table numbers are ON THE TABLE), and took ages to bring simple things. Also, he did not bring dessert spoons with our dessert, so we asked, and he brought me a dirty, rusty short tea spoon for my ice cream in long-latte-cup.... Feels like he does not know what he is doing...
