This is a national trust site in the same grounds as Calke Abbey. MAKE SURE TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE TURN TO CAULKE EXPLORE AS ITS FIRST ONE AND WE MISSED IT ON OUR FIRST VISIT!Lots of great natural play areas for the kids.We didn't get to explore the route but there was a great bike hire hub that includes the towed trailers for younger children to get involved.Highly recommended and plan to go back and make use of the bike hire so we can explore some more.

We walked here from the main car park along the waters edge . But you could just park here instead! We were happy to visit the bird hide ,use the bathroom facilities and sit down in the spacious area by the cafe opposite the ponds and woodland area .It was a great atmosphere with families enjoying the outdoors and a chance to relax together .Lots of exploring to do in the woods for your kids.

A great variety of paths leave from here, with differing lengths. Great for a short stroll or a longer hike! We really enjoyed the 'Tramway Trail'. The play ground is excellent for young people too. Nice toilets and cafe.

Lovely place. Contrary to Google not showing a cafe on site, there is one, but apparently they only open in the summer and good weather. It was open when we visited and have an outside seating area and toilets. The park is also very good, ideal for those with children as there are swings, various lig challenges and a hobbit cave. Well worth a visit for all ages. Large car park too

Nice loop trails, long or short. Mostly flat and suitable for walkers, dogs, families and bike riders. Not pleased that you have to pay the National Trust fee for Calke Abbey just to cycle at Calke Explore. I am a member, but had to pay for my partner. We didn't have time to also visit the Abbey, so it was an expensive bike ride. Although we enjoyed it, we wouldn't visit Calke Explore again for this reason. We did see cars parked near the couple of roads that the trail crosses, so had I have known, we would have parked there.

Lots of choice for walks in the countryside, you can hire bikes for the whole family there too. The walks we tried were all quite flat so easy even for me.They have a kiosk there that serves some food and drinks (some nice flavours of ice cream too) but for more substantial fare head to the restaurant at the Abbey. There is separate parking for Calke Explore.
