Gloucester Docks

Great piece at Christmas time with a lot going on, Christmas stalls and the shops all at the quays. They have the ice skating there too. Nice place for those last minute gifts.

Great day out at Gloucester Goes retro. Lots of people to talk to, good selection of food, and plenty of things to see and do. We were displaying in the military section so my photos are a little biased.There are plenty of activities to do in the docks, from shopping and great restaurants through to renting paddle boards and small boats, and you can always just walk the canal path.

Cleaned up for the retro festival, the docks were in good shape, with lots of interesting boats to see and some to tour inside. Nice Greek Deli by the lock to go with the excellent Greek On The Docks and Settobello Trattoria.

After visiting the cathedral and town centre, had a walk around the docks sbd canal

So now you can enjoy the historic buildings that once housed the industries of the day.Just a stone's throw away from the docks is an area housing a fairly recent covered and outdoors shopping centre known as Gloucester Quays that compliments the style of the Docks. So plenty to do and see when it is wet.

Nice walk around the dock area. Not much to see but if you're lucky you can be there when they flood the lock to let barges in.

So beautiful and peaceful. Even if there is a market and restaurants nearby, it really felt quiet place. I won't get bored by staying whole day sitting on the bench and just observe surrounding.

A beautiful historic Dockyard lots to see and plenty of places to rest and eat.
