Loch Leven Equine Practice

Super professional, knowledgeable vets. Everyone is so kind and helpful, my horse has been seen by this practice far too often within the past year and a half and they’ve been fantastic coming out to see her and fixing her up when she’s at the practice. My horse has been in the best care at Loch Leven!

My horse was recently at the practice for surgery - and my experience was that LLEP is back to its brilliant best. Hugh's expertise has never been in doubt. But this experience left me feeling as though LLEP was back to being the close knit family run business it started out as (albeit rather larger these days) - and I was more relaxed than I've ever been about leaving my horse in their capable hands. The communication I, and the care my horse, received was superb - I knew what to expect, who was going to be doing what, when things were going to be happening, and when I might expect updates. The surgery was successful and the follow up calls and advice I've received have underlined the expertise, care and compassion this team have for both their equine clients and their owners. Easy to access and find. Only few minutes from motorway. Very limited parking area so need to drop & run, so to speak, if with a lorry or horse box. Turning area is small involving reversing. Staff polite and helpful.

Two of my horses were in the practice last week for a 2 day stay. The staff (everyone we spoke with throughout their stay) were absolutely wonderful at keeping us informed and updated on their care. We received phone calls regularly and even a video of them happy and settled at bed time. The boys both had some dental work and came home happy and completely chilled. The follow up care has also been fantastic.

These guys were fantastic when my pony blue was lame an required an op. They put my mind at rest knowing he was in the best of care and called me asap when he was back on his feet and even sent me a picture of him. Thank you guys xx

Since registering with LLEP almost 5 years ago , we have had absolutely brilliant support.The team are so experienced, highly professional and have really strong customer skills, always putting you at ease, explaining everything in detail and following up quickly to check how things are progressing .Recently with two fairly stressful situations with our ponies , where we had to call out of hours, Rebecca with the situation with Rupert was absolutely amazing and Hannah with Storm’s recent respiratory issue, again was outstanding . Just over a week ago I went to see my horses and I found one of them looking poorly, I thought he may be suffering with colic, we phoned Loch leven and James arrived quickly and confirmed colic. He was very honest about his diagnosis and after trying to remove the impaction he decided it would be best to get him to the hospital. On arrival Jenny and a nurse was there to receive him and quickly took him in to treat him. He stayed for 4 days the following day he managed to move the impaction, he was closely monitored and improved every day and we collected him on the 4th day and he is doing well, a huge thank you to all the staff who treated and cared for my boy, and sorry about the tears of fear then relief. I would recommend Loch Leven and would certainly use them again.

A truly excellent practice. I am relatively new to owning horses and the vets always take the time to thoroughly explain what is happening and my options. The team back in the office are friendly, professional and very responsive, even through the challenges of Covid. The healthy horse plan is a great option to spread the cost of routine care and is great value. Highly recommend.

Looked after my mare beautifully whilst in for nearly 3 weeks for a large cut to the bone on her cannon bone.It has healed really well to a neat scar.
