This is a very tranquil place. My mother is buried there and I visit it once or twice a week. The grounds are kept reasonably well. The only down side is there are no paths in between the graves . You would not be able to visit a loved one if you had difficulty walking or were in a wheel chair. It is impossible to fit a wheelchair between the graves and a walker aid would also be impossible. The church itself is lovely inside and has the ability to make you talk in whispered reverence.

As you head south driving along the B5066 through Spot Acre you will happen upon the spectacular view of a church in the Gothic style. This is Christ Church in Hilderstone Staffordshire. On this pleasant but windy day, the vista demanded that I stop and take some images. The initial view is a little spoilt by the telephone wires, but if you take the time to walk along the public footpath and around the churchyard you can get some fantastic images. Looking up detail on the church, it is a Grade II listed building which began construction in 1829 with the laying of a foundation stone. The church was designed by Thomas Trubshaw and was built using a local stone called Hollington stone. Trubshaw was a son of James Trubshaw, the head of a Staffordshire family of masons and church builders who had been involved in church building for many years. The tall tower with a recessed spire houses a single bell. Around the outside eaves of the church there are carved gargoyles which are said to depict the workmen involved in the building of the church. The church was completed in 1833 and opened on 31st July of that year. Credit to Wikipedia and other websites which were reviewed for this information.
