The Kingfisher Public House
Delicious burgers and great choice. Very dog friendly, the only issue hence minus 1 star was that all the tables in the garden could have done with a clean, the bar staff gave us some blue roll and I had antibac spray in my handbag anyway. Apart from the outside table cleanliness, this is a great local pub to have a drink or eat at.

Busy little local pub with some great if not pricey food. Lots of seafood on the menu from local Lyme Bay.For the cost I would have preferred table service but otherwise all good.

My husband and I wanted to go out for lunch and decided to come to The Kingfisher. We had both attended separate Christmas parties here and found the food and atmosphere to be excellent. The staff were very welcoming and asked if we wanted to eat in the garden or the restaurant. The garden area is beautiful, and very picturesque, but we had had a few spots of rain earlier, so opted for the restaurant, which was cosy and quiet, lit with strings of lights that gave it a cosy, welcoming feel. Our drinks and meals were ordered at the bar, the specials board had tempted us to order the ribeye steak, with chips, onion rings, tomatoes etc., and peppercorn sauce. (I have been told that their speciality is seafood, so if you enjoy fresh fish or scallops, cooked to a high standard, then I would recommend coming here).A member of staff brought us forks and steak knives wrapped in a napkin, and asked if we needed anything else. When the meal arrived it looked amazing. Our peppercorn sauce came in two individual sauce boats, so we could add as much or as little as we liked. The meal was hot and cooked to perfection. We both asked for our steak to be medium, and that is what we got. The chips were golden: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The battered onion rings were scrunchy. And the steak... What can I say?? It was so full of flavour, and it practically melted in your mouth. I think that the steak knives were unnecessary, the meat was so tender. It was an amazing meal, and a wonderful eating experience. The whole ambience of The Kingfisher speaks of a pride in the business and the experience that they offer to those of us lucky enough to visit this gem. Be it a drink at the bar, or a meal in the restaurant or garden, you are certain to have a warm welcome and a memory to treasure.

Visited a couple of times on our holiday. Once for food and once for drinks only. Enjoyed both times, a good selection of drinks and good choices on the menu. Good was of a good quality at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and professional. Certainly recommend.

Caught the tram from Seaton to Colyton in late April-21, just after things were reopening after Covid. We weren't really expecting very much at Colyton. After a short 10 or so minute walk following signs towards the town we went in (or rather sat outside) for a drink and a bite to eat at lunch and so glad we did. Lots of reserved tables so I would say booking is advisable but managed to grab a table before the next party were due. Good use of outdoor space with covered area and a gas heater. We each had a Devon cider and I had a burger on the specials board. My burger was delicious! Beef patty, and the rest cooked perfect. Good service, as was the value.

Kingfisher Pub Colytonfamily owned and operated by the Dacky family.Rose has a beautiful smile and is the perfect hostess - bartender. Chef Jacob (center ), prepared a delicious cod filet, caught by Rose’s dad on their boat Dacky’s Cat , this morning. The rissoto was the perfect paring with the delicious fish with a side of micro greens. Absolutely could not be fresher or more delicious. The bar is charming with great history and honest architecture , if the rocks could talk. Rose’s mom is quite the baker with daily delicious sweets that are worth the trip for a lovely tea.

Couldn’t have asked for a better pub experience! Great food, pours, and even a cozy fire on a blustery, sideways rain kind of day. Walked here from the tramway and was totally charmed. They even let our kids get in some bowling in the back room when they were working through their wiggles. Had the pie of the day and it was great.
