Visited with my family during Lantern Floating Festival. It is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and tranquil.

Japanese Buddhist temple. Beautiful place full of wonderful people. They have open days in spring.I tried to learn meditation all over the world! It worked when these people taught me.

A beautiful place to relax and attend free guided meditation sessions on Saturdays. Lectures and workshops are available to learn more about Shinnyo Buddhism.

The Temple is a place of beauty, it’s grounds are lovely and the lantern making was so nice to do last year! Xx

Shinnyo En holds a lantern floating festival every year which has a lovely atmosphere. The people who work and volunteer there are so polite and welcoming.

The floating Lantern ceremony was an amazing experience. We had a wonderful afternoon and evening joining in with the events. The atmosphere with the crowd was exciting. The music was very pleasant to listen to. The lanterns looked magical floating on the lake lit with different coloured lights. The friendly team of people made everyone feel very welcome.It was wonderful to go into the temple. SO beautiful.It was a really lovely visit. Thankyou so much xx

Shinnyo-en is an esoteric Mahayana lay Buddhist order that originated from Japan. This is one of the most welcoming, friendly places I've ever been. There are a few open days throughout the year plus a lantern floating ceremony towards the end of summer that is open to the public. Simply phone the temple office and the staff will be happy to give you information. There is a wheelchair lift to the right of the manor house and a stairlift that serves each floor except for the basement, there is an accessible toilet available for disabled people also plus some parking spaces. Shinnyo Buddhism maintains traditional roots whilst moving with the times to enable practitioners to blend their practice with a modern life.

Shinnyo-en is Esoteric Buddhist practice that is open to all, pure, profound and powerful. The guidance is tailored to individual and everyone is guaranteed to discover real and deep wisdom within. You need to experience it yourself if you are a seeker of spiritual growth... certain things are best done than said!
