Tenpin Crewe
I took my son here as a birthday treat. I have taken my stepdaughter to Tenpin Macclesfield on a couple of occasions and have had a great time both times. In theory, this place should have been great as it's just been completely refurbished by new owners. It looks brilliant but some of the fun of bowling (e.g. watching funky dancing matchsticks when you get a strike is a spare!) has been lost because you no longer have the overhead screens. This also means you can't see the score of your neighbouring lane so a match would be a struggle - everything is now enclosed in your own little booth. The balls are nice and new and shiny and the lanes are polished to a shine. The ability to automate bumpers to rise and fall with each player is fab but there are some serious problems with this place...Everything looks and feels new... but half the stuff in there doesn't work! And the policies are also pretty shoddy. We booked an Easter special deal. 2 games of bowling for 3 people, including food. We booked 10.30am with burgers and chicken nuggets. We turned up at 10.30 to be informed the food would be with us as soon as it was cooked. I asked if we could have it after our bowling and was told they were fully booked so needed to get the food out so they could accept other orders. What nonsense! We were served our 'lunch' at 10.45am!!!A ghost in the machine named our 1st player llll,,,jjjj,,.kkkkllll,, (or something very close to that!). An attendant tried resetting it and when it still didn't work, our lane was changed. Ok, so things do occasionally go wrong. I was happy enough at this point but this was just the start...All went well until the lane decided just to not re-rack our skittles (or pins). The screen identified an error, then said it was fixed... but nothing happened. Then the error came up again... it was apparently  fixed again... still nothing. This went on for 10 minutes. I went to find a member of staff who tried to tell me the ball return was blocked and if we ensured that was clear, all would be OK. We gave him the benefit of the doubt but when it was clear the issue still wasn't fixed, we approached the staff again. This time they did fix it, but there was no real apology given. We went to the bar. There was only us and the people the barman was serving. By the time he had finished serving, a queue was forming. He served 2 more groups before getting to us.Once we had our drinks, we went to the arcade. I needed change for a £20 note but the first change machine I came to was out of order. I queued for the other and got pound coins and 50p pieces. I wanted 10p pieces for the 10p slider/cascade games but the broken change machine was the only one offering 10p pieces...We tried to use a VR headset twin game but one of the headsets wasn't working so the shared experience was somewhat lost. My son found a fairground mallet and wanted to hit the gong at the top but it must have been broken as it wasn't even switched on. He found a grabber machine but we were told that was out of order.I found a grabber with bundles of tickets but it hadn't been refilled so there were literally half a dozen bundles left. My son played a skill game where you roll a ball to hit a bonus. He nearly hit it with his first shot so I put another £1 in. The ball would not return.  I found a member of staff and expected my point back but she spent 5 minutes trying to free the ball them came and told me it was ready to play again. I walked over expecting to use our pound but she hadn't reset it for a game, just reset it for the next person to put more money in. I couldn't be bothered to argue any more.Another grabber had golden eggs with toys inside but although he grabbed an egg on his first go, the egg popped open inside the machine and the toy fell out inside. He won an empty egg!! The staff did remedy this and gave us an extra spare egg for free by way of apology but it just added to the comedy of errors. The soft play looked pretty good but I had had enough. We left.

Difficult one to score, because its a bowling place and the bowling was good, but it's just bowling and it's largely not Subject to human error or interference, so I can't simply mark the place highly gor doing what it says on the tin.The booths are good, plenty of balls to choose from to suit your needs, so that's all good.My gripe is the food, I wasn't expecting great quality food, but as a minimum I expect it to be somewhat edible, and hot.Now I know that the first course of action is to raise issues to the Staff, but let's be honest, I'm not complaining about AA rated food here, it was a few buger and fries baskets, you don't deserve a 2nd chance at those, not at nearly £10 a pop!Aside from the fact that the food was rancid, the portion sizes were akin to McDonalds saver menu sizes, remember, nearly £10....without a drink!Cold, dry, hard, tasteless, and the cheese lazily thrown on top of something not hot enough to raise temperature of it to a safe temperature.Probes guys, invest in some!Left for the rats.....Genuinely feel robbed.

Sometimes the queue is too long, could do with an additional till for checking in. Asides that, a perfect spot for family fun. We always have the best time.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon (around 2 p.m.) and had a fantastic family-friendly day out.We paid for 2 games for the 4 of us, which worked out around £42 which we thought was good value. There is a touch screen where you enter player details and a nice touch of being able to do a group selfie to have as the background to the scoreboard. You also have the option of having bumpers down the gutters per player. These automatically rise and fall depending on the option being selected for each player. There is a large selection of bowling balls with different hole sizes for different hand types. We had no issues with finding a ball each to play with. There is a fully stocked bar with a good range of drinks at reasonable prices. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. There is a large soft play area, although our girls are too old for it, so they can't comment on how good it is. It looks big, though, and the kids that were in there seemed to be having lots of fun. There are escape rooms and a laser quest, too, although we didn't use either, so I can't comment. There is an arcade with a wide selection of games to play. Our girls really enjoyed playing here, although it's all quite pricey for the time you get on each game.Overall, it was a great afternoon out. I would definitely recommend it, and we will definitely be heading back.

The place had a revamp from the last business, the bowling now is on different positions then before, more compact but more facility for Lazer tag and panic rooms, a new large bar area , very cozy and elegant, the bowling also have seated areas and TVs ,fun for kids and adults.

Very well thought out venue offering bowling, laser tag, escape rooms, arcade and bar. The decision is to a really high standard and the atmosphere is vibrant. The staff are really helpful and there are a decent amount of staff on duty for how's busy it is.Really minor niggles, having the food while bowling isn't great as you are handling the balls then your food. Also the food was pretty basic and isn't up to the same standards as everything else.Overall, very good though.

This place is quite the chaotic mess. They really need to rethink how people check in for a booked slot. We were queuing for a good 20mins before being told which lane was ours - it wasnt even busy! There were two staff at the 'bar' - one person serves drinks, the other handled bookings and snacks. This also meant if you wanted a snack you get snarled up in the same queue! Booth and bowling was good, and I like the ability to be dynamic with who was bumper rails in your game. The arcade, however, was full of broken and barely functioning machines. Some were out of order, others didn't print tickets, and some only worked half the time.

Great place to go bowling and the food is reasonably priced. My daughter enjoyed the play area and my son enjoyed the laser tag party he attended. Food was a little bit slow.
