These guys are a knowledgable long standing business of father and son and staff with great service, a really knowledgable marine business with all the bits you need in stock, a marine engineering service yard and brand new boats for sale and service too. Recommend them for sure.

I'm servicing the old diesel engine on a recently acquired Hardy: the people at PLM were friendly and knowledgeable, and they either had in stock or could get the parts I needed. There's a good general chandlery too.

I have bought a Project sailing boat at PLM at really very good value and is refurbishing it 'on the hard' at the marina. Their assistance in general with knowledge, chandlery, security and just simply being there with friendly encouragement is really to be commended. I have spend four months to date working on the yacht and I have no complaints at all. Really an exellent and efficient team in a efficient, working marina. We always use Peter Leonard to service our Suzukis every 100 hours. We’ve twin 250Hp units on our 10m commercial RIB so we tend to be there every few weeks at this time of the year.We usually get the boat lifted out as the tide comes up and then dropped back in before it gets too low to escape back to the river. That means Steve (their trained technician), has a really tight time frame to get them turned around in time. He’s not failed us yet and the engines continue to run as new after 400 hours of use.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Peter Leonard Marine to any other commercial operator and would certainly steer anyone with Suzukis in particular towards them for their servicing.Special thanks to Steve for his attention to detail and ability to answer any questions I have.

I contacted Peter Leonard Marine for an overhaul of my marine engine. I had a very pleasant conversation with Mr. Peter Leonard SENIOR, he would arrange for the review to be done.After a week I inquired by email when the review would take place and received a reply from Peter Leonard JUNIOR. That was on a Friday and the check would be done on Monday. He asked me to wire an advance of £150. I transferred the amount as requested the next morning and emailed a screenshot as proof to Peter Leonard JUNIOR to ensure payment. We live abroad.I immediately received a reply: as per mail yesterday afternoon, we are unable to work for you. I will refund your payment on Monday.Excuse me? First of all, we did not receive an email and I asked him which email this is about: no answerI asked again why he suddenly doesn't want to work on our engine: no answer.Business seems to be going too well, hopefully it stays that way.

Great guys in the yard, I have stayed at the yard following a dismasting for three months, and found everyone there to be courteous and helpful. When the mast arrived, the yard was willing to help me fit the mast step at short notice.One of the most reasonably priced places to stay while getting work done on the south coast.

Stay away from this company.I have been charged £500 for antifouling a 16.5 ft fishing boat.After first use the antifoul started to peel.It is obvious that the hull havent been prepared properly.They havent even touche it with sand paper.They used 2 different colours aswell for patching up.Worst customer service .I had the hull cracked in 2 places.They've charged me £2000 for proffesional" repair.The finish is rough .They havent sand it the grp.They havent even put the gelcoat on the repairs.Theyve covered with antifoul.I will NEVER ever use this company again.The young fellow i think is the son.....very rude and arogant aswell.EVEN IN YOUR RESPONSE

We had a broken engine control cable of our Volvo penta boat diesel. It meant big trouble to get back to Holland. No shop was able to deliver it on saterday (or answer the phone anyway) but in a call with Peter Leonard he suggested that one way or another he problably can provide a solution So visiting the shop we showed the broken cable and after some searching they came with the perfect cable and for a very reasonable price. A tip for the service was refused. Bottemline Peter Leonard gave us a few extra days to enjoy our last week sailing in the english waters. Tjip o/b SV Rosalee

Currently have my boat “Lilypad” moored here and I can definitely say it’s a very friendly and helpful site with a shop that’s got you covered for all boating needs! The site is well maintained with security. Restricted access, Wi-Fi, toilets and Vera is one of the nicest person I know! She’s a real caring and helpful person!
