Do not trust Steve brooks or shepherd home improvements both should be struck off trading .6 days with no bathroom as sent new one to Doncaster I live different area .. send different toilet to what we ordered bath had chips in it .started work on 7th June 4th October was supposed to come back and re fit the whole bath another lame excuse.. so asked for some kind of refund who was only paid from Richard shepherd.

Same experience as others. Taken in by Steve Brooks and my promised dream kitchen became a nightmare. Send your review to Trading Standards at Doncaster Council.

Cowboys! Avoid at all costs. They 'fitted' our ensuite in 6 weeks not the 6 days they agreed. They cut tiles in our bedroom leaving shards everywhere, they used our bed to store tools and ripped all our bedding. They would spend about an hour a day at our house then get called away to 'emergency jobs' then would no show ever other day. When they finally 'completed' the install, half the grouting was incomplete, the toilet wasn't attached to the wall and was leaking and NOTHING had been sealed with sealant. Wrong parts were constantly ordered and I had to do most of the running around to screw fix, and tops tiles for them. I spend two days myself trying to fix some of the bad work they did. During the entire ordeal the word 'sorry' never passed their lips once. This is just an overview, I could say a lot more.12 months later, as the bathroom started to fall to bits we bit the bullet and had it ripped out and re done all together by another firm.If you're looking to have a really badly installed bathroom with horrific customer service, then give them a call!

AVOID AVOID AVOIDSteve Brooks is a smooth talking charlatan. I came across his negative reviews after handing over a considerable deposit, l told Steve l wished to cancel within 10 minutes of him leaving my home, Steve then offered a different payment plan, l still asked for my money back, which Steve assured me would be in my account the next morning. Then came excuse after excuse to delay my refund. Finally after 10 days l have received my full deposit refund, but it has been 10 stressful days l could have done without. Do yourself a favour pay a few £k extra and hire a professional. I will, be doing.

This is day 17 of our bathroom refit. We were told originally that it might take 2 weeks, it's obviously going to take a lot longer. They insist on payment up front but then don't do the job. Payment for rubbish removal is separate, they don't tell you that. It's impossible to speak to anyone on the phone just goes to answer phone. We are both disabled pensioners so they have decided to take advantage of that Cannot recommend this company

Had my bathroom installed by this company last year, the shower cubicle leaked and so did the toilet & towel warmer, the tiled floor was uneven too and it started to lift, I’ve just paid over £400 to have it all corrected, even the wall tiles were coming away from the wall !! Absolutely shocking workmanship, avoid this company and just pay that little extra and have a professional job done by a proper company, as the saying goes “you get what you pay for” I could go on and one with what was wrong with my bathroom ! Oh and be aware of the extra costs, the fitter wanted £180 for a sheet of plaster board !! Please do not waste your hard earned money on this shoddy outfit !

Mark remodelled our bathroom to a very high standard, always on time and a clean tidy worker. Bathroom finished to a high quality standard, we are very pleased with the work carried out and would be definitely use them again when we need any work done.

Steve Brooks also uses a website called homefitbathrooms, which is the one I used to arrange a bathroom refurbishment. The way Steve operates is the same described in all other reviews: he is very polite and behaves professionally until he gets the money from you, then everything becomes a nightmare. Job delayed and carried out by not professional staff that are not employed directly by him, very poor standards and items missing, which Steve Brooks does not take any responsibility for and becomes very rude if you complain about the standards of the work and the additional undisclosed charges. The pieces of the bathroom suite that his associates fitted were not sealed properly, gaps everywhere, chipped tiles and leaks from washbasin and toilet. The fitter never came back to sort it as promised and Steve Brooks denies any responsibilities. I had then to pay a different company to sort the mess left behind. It is hard to believe how this person can continue to scam people and get away with it.

We had Steve Brooks come to give a quote for a new bathroom he was nice and professional we paid a deposit and arranged for a project manager to visit. He did not arrive. No apology no contact. I phoned over 2 hours later to rebook appointment. I googled Steve Brooks mexborough and was surprised at the 1star reviews. Tried to cancel and was talked out of it and offered a new payment schedule. Still not happy and concerned I cancelled again 4 days later and asked for my money back. He gave me the run around and it took 10 days to issue a cheque even though they are supposed to refund using the method I paid with ie bank transfer.I had to drive 16 mile round trip to pay in. All of this cost me £200 and a lot of worry for a free quote. Please read other reviews I think that I got off lightly.
