Pepperberry Day Nursery

I have worked with Pepperberry to provide staff for this site and others in their family. Great communication and most importantly, staff who have worked there have given great feedback with one being taken on permanently.

Excellent day nursery with very competent and friendly staff. My son is always excited when he arrives to see his key worker. The ey log app they have is great as they not only give a diary of how he has napped/eaten etc throughout the day but they also send photos of what he has been doing and little videos. Highly recommended.

My son loves being here. His key workers Monica and Malik have been excellent. All the staff are full of enthusiasm. Plenty of playtime outside in the summer and meals seems varied and good.

My little one attended this nursery for 5 months, but I had to take her out, as she was constantly unwell. The childcare workers were all lovely, but understaffed, which had caused a few issues. However, my worst experience was with Miss Craig from the finance department. It took me four months to get my money back, endless emails and phone calls and finally a Letter before taking court action. Miss Craig had transferred the money one day before I made a court claim and even then she tried to con me stating that my bank details weren't correct and the transfer couldn't go through. It was of course a lie and she was trying to put me off. Miss Craig would constantly ignore my emails and never return phone calls. She was always either on her break, away from her desk or not at work on that day. If I was the nursery manager she would be the first to go, as she brings a shame to the nursery! She proved to be an ignorant human being and a prolific liar, demonstrating disgusting attitude and approach to people.

The staff are quite nice and try their best with what they have to look after the children, but the owner/director is often confrontational towards the staff, often making them cry. This coincides with them being understaffed alot of the time which means a single member of staff has more children to look after than they would ordinarily handle.

Our son attended Pepperberry’s for a full year in Baby Peppers and Tiny Peppers but he ultimately he didn’t settle so we sent him to another nursery. It didn’t help that it was during the pandemic which made the pick-up and drop off more difficult due to social distancing etc, but it also felt like overall it wasn’t as nurturing as our son needed; it often felt like it was a little too busy for him. The front desk could have been more welcoming at times but I think the environment wasn’t ideal to allow for that with so many parents coming and going and limited space. The key workers seemed nice and in general he seemed fairly well looked after from what we could tell.Our biggest issue was with our reimbursement by their finance team for our early bird annual payment. This option can give you good savings and make them attractive on the costs, but I would concur with another reviewer that getting the repayment was very difficult so beware of this if you choose to take any of those upfront payment options. We had to constantly chase this up with poor communication and lack of urgency for keeping us updated on how it was being handled. Apparently, the refund payment kept getting “flagged as fraud” so then a cheque was apparently posted to us which mysteriously got lost in the post, then finally we got the refund about 3 months / 73 calendar days after the initial refund form was completed. Hopefully management will take note of these issues and seek to improve on this process moving forwards.

I have recently returned to Pepperberry, it’s a lovely nursery with a fantastic team of practitioners, who all work well together and have a brilliant parent in partnership with all our families.

Our little boy has thrived since he started at Pepperberry 12 months ago. The staff have all been excellent. Super friendly with the kids best interests at heart. I would not hesistate to recommend Pepperberry to anyone.

I took my daughter out of this nursery as due to have my second child and am due to be at home, so made sense to keep her with me until I go back to work. Asked for a.refund and was told 30 days and have rang several times, and it's been 43 days now and no signs of that refund..really annoyed with this place as they are very quick to ask for money with all their special.offers if you pay well in advance but pathetic at giving it back..appalled
