Tain Golf Course

Awesome layout, just needs a few finishing touches around the clubhouse but the course is fabulous, varied and fun. Each hole differing from the others. Friendly clubhouse but needs sprucing up.

I visited Tain Golf Club last weekend for a round while up north. I had booked a round at a very reasonable price for this time of year, particularly on a links. The round was great, the wind was up which I think is always good to give it that true links feel. The part I would particularly like to call out, and which has brought me to leave this review, is on how courteous the resident pro, Stuart, was with me when I arrived. Stuart went the extra mile in jotting down some useful info on the scorecard - things like yardages to certain points and useful tips for how to play certain holes which run blind for the 2nd shot in. This extra mile was something Stuart didn't need to do but it really stood out for me. Thanks again Stuart, you are a credit to Tain.

When we played in July Some of the areas around bunkers struggling to recover from repair / upgrade works in front 9 ,back 9 better conditionEnjoyed the round .

Course in excellent condition and greens running very true. Green staff doing an excellent job this early in season

Played a round here a few days ago and very enjoyable. Not a long course but some tricky holes. Professional was very helpful with tips for some of the holes. Overall a great golfing experience.

Yet again I had another amazing time during the Golf week. The course is in wonderful condition, and a great test for golfer of all levels. Thanks to Richard, Dorothy and the bar/catering staff for being so friendly and helpful, and Stewart and Gus in the Pro shop.I would strongly recommend a visit to this golf course, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely golf course in excellent condition. Friendly and welcoming staff and a good meal afterwards, what more could you ask for.

Superb course. Superb clubhouse and the warmest of welcomes from all at the club. Must go back soon and great to get a game with an old friend

A warm welcome from the Pro and he also gave me a scorecard and marked the hazards and distances as I had not played the course before. The course is in good condition and the greens are fast and true. The course is a genuine test and it’s a difficult start, which is not for the faint hearted. The rough and semi rough are I forgiven , perhaps play with older balls as you may well lose a few! The holes near the sea are very nice and and the two Par 3’s at 16 and 17 are a real test.

Great old links course for a reasonable green fee. Old Tom Morris on the first tee. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Stuart the head pro served us really well. Hole 11 is my favourite and the drinks in the club house were consumed with great pleasure. By the way the Glenmorangie Distillery is right a around the corner and I would recommend a stop after your round. The tainer is a no brainer.
