Not sure what the bad reviews are about? Stayed at Hanworth Country Park and walked across the fields. We ordered 3 different mains, one meat, vegetarian and vegan and all were cooked and presented to the highest quality. The coleslaw is amazing! Highly recommend. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices were very reasonable too. They take dogs in the bar and have a great selection of beers. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Chequers.

Couldn't give change for the pool table, couldn't change the music, had to play hunt the barstaff on several occasions. Impromptu 10 o'clock closure. Considering we were the only people in the pub for a fair amount of time it was a lesson on how not to do customer service. Only glad we didn't attempt to order food!

Recently decorated and improved it is a pleasant experience eating and drinking here. The staff were very good. The Sunday lunch was good but was let down by elements being very dry such as roast potatoes, stuffing, etc. This I guess is a consequence of pre cooking items.I will visit again but maybe not for another Sunday lunch

Had a booking for 10 people today for Sunday roasts so they were expecting us. Bar staff friendly getting drinks but thats where it went downhill rapidly. Starters came after a long wait, mismatched portion sizes of prawn cocktails, had to ask for butter and lemon wedge. No butter with pate either.Mains took over an hour and came with raw, lukewarm veg. Some plates missing carrots, some broccoli, some Yorkshire pudding (which were flat and greasy) very watery greasy gravy and extremely small portions. Half my Lamb was fat and inedible as was all the raw veg. The raw, water logged cauliflower cheese turned up well after we had raised our concerns. The staff looked embarrassed at the state of the food leaving the kitchen and we left having only paid for the starters but everyone had to seek food elsewhere enroute home. Terrible food in an otherwise nice surrounding.Avoid until they sort it out is my advice!

Finished a 7 mile walk at the Chequers Potterhanworth bought two meals for less than £20, smothered chicken on the menu which was like hunters chicken and the chicken pie, both were delicious and excellent value for money. Also a great range of cask ales. Recent re fefurb in bar looked great and staff nice and friendly. Would certainly recommend and will return.
