I started working for the home before it first opened, from domestic/ kitchen assistant, to cook, kitchen manager and now laundry, the staff are extremely dedicated to the residents and go above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy, comfortable and always go the extra mile to help them with any problems! We are supported by our manager, and residents are always put first, we have the opportunity to progress within the home and change roles to suit.

Beautiful home and great atmosphere. The staff are friendly, caring and hard working.

I first came to waterfield as an agency. I did 13 weeks solid there I picked up all the shifts I was offered as I immediately clicked there with some of the staff and all of the residents. I was asked to become a full time carer there, I jumped at the chance. I took the job as the residents were well looked after. It is a family feel between the staff and the residents. Just under 5 years later and I still walk in there with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. I would recommend anybody thinking of having the painful decision of placing a family member anywhere. Have a look at waterfield first.

I am a professional who visited the home one during this period of Covid 19 and I can say the safety protocol there is second to none.

We supplied a case of required clothes.We went to retrieve the case full of clothes and essentials. Was given a bin liner with minimum items. Attitude was disgusting.

I visited Waterfield House Care Home last week and was warmly received by the home. This was part of my first week working with Runwood Homes. The Home Manager was very friendly and passionate about her team and residents. The home was well presented, homely and clean. Residents were engaged, happy and equally welcoming. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Really bad experience having a family member in this home. Lack of clarity in their own policies, this is demonstrated by staff members being unclear when sharing information. Communication is exceptionally poor and any challenges are met by aggression and denial. Watching a family member being told to wait and finish a meeting, when she was explaining the chair was causing her pain. Being initially told the family member was going to the home to die, then being told that information was wrong and had been misread. I was very lucky that I could move the family member, only to be told she had sat in her own urine on the final day, as she had been told to wait for the toilet. There is so much more that took place in a short time period. Take care any who place a relative here.

Staffing ratio is a big issue here. At 12 pm some residents are still waiting to have their personal care. Some relatives have been paid off by Runwood Homes to remove their bad reviews from the website so you won't know what is going on there. Do some good to your loved ones, avoid this dead end.

I worked here for just over a year, and I have watched this place decline over time. The home appears lovely. Warm, welcoming and homely. However, employed there are a lot of Romanian workers who are not given the correct support to learn English to a high standard. (This is important as they are communicating with elderly, frail individuals, some with Dementia, who sometimes struggle to understand them - leading to frustration and upset with the residents)The amount of staff in the home at any one time is not enough to meet the needs of the residents adequately, and safeguardings are not always raised. The training is all online and very easy to skip through without learning a thing, the moving and handling training in inaccurate and very basic, and therefore results in poor practice. (To no fault of the carers working there)In my opinion, this home needs a complete overhaul.Do not always believe CQC reports - this home has its tricks.
