It's got facilities for young children toys etc, it's small, but goes in hand with climbing walls. The food was fairly ordinary some choices not huge. And looked appealing. The tables looked dirty. Staff friendly. Music nice.

We stopped in here for coffee and cake when we first got to Southend yesterday. What a fabulous place! There was something for everyone. Beautiful art on the walls, Bohemian goods for sale, a dedicated children's play area and of course some of the gorgeous herd of elephants that are on display all over Southend. On our way back to the station at the end of our day out, we found the Ironworks still open and popped in for another coffee and cake. The friendly staff explained that they are open late on a Tuesday for an evening club for young adults with additional needs. What an amazing group of people! They made us feel very welcome and we loved watching them singing and dancing and having a great time with the DJ who was playing great music .

Just had a lovely coffee in this usual cafe in Southend. Not your usual place to stop for coffee and cake as there is so much more to The Ironworks so it is well worth a visit. Coffee was delicious.

It was reasonably quiet when I arrived, they had a special event night for people with disabilities on. They had karaoke, on for people that were for people for various abilities. They sold cakes, alcohol beverages, coffees/tea's etc and the decaf coffee was really good. They had ready made sandwiches in the fridge, I am not sure if they had gluten-free or vegan options.

There is not just a cafe like an art center or community center. You can find lots of activities for all ages groups. Coffee was tasty I can recommend for everyone. I will come next time with my toddler because there has a small soft play area

Great little community centre. I attended the Earth Tones event last weekend and loved it, particularly the reggae bands playing in the evening

This will now be my own place for a coffee and a sit down when running errands in town. The spacious room and relaxed atmosphere were a relief on my latest visit. More than that, though, the venue hosts a wide variety of events such as the city centre has long needed, from life drawing and yoga to live music and crochet.

A great introduction to Southend High Street for coffee / food and have loads of community events on. Hope this one stays. They do vegan milk.
