A beautiful wood but quite small and when I visited on a Sunday, quite crowded. Every time I would stop to admire one of the sculptures someone would turn up. People kept ending up in my photos, showing up on the previously empty path in just the time it took my phone camera to focus. Probably a great spot to take the kids or dog for a quick romp but not so great for that secluded in nature feeling.

We went here for my 40th lockdown birthday. The woods are very quiet considering that it's next to a military base. There are several table with seats available, but only enough for 1 family and 1 set of children. Pretty little wood and woodpeckers can be seen here.

Love walking here with my collie-cross, Benji. It is an amazing place with fantastic trees, plants and wildlife. Definitely worth a visit whether you have a dog or not, but please respect woodland and foraging regulations and don't upset the natural beauty of this place.

Great spot for a walk with kids or the dog. Decent areas for picnicking, and the wood carvings across the area are fun to find. But BEWARE! If you live out of the area and are driving to check this out, week days are going to be a struggle. Your nearest car park is the Bedford Council parking area, which is monitored and permitted on weekdays. Makes it nigh on impossible to park close-by. Would recommend only checking out the Plantation on Weekends, when the parking area next to the council is free.

Only found it by chance when I spotted the Snapdragons growing in the wood. Lovely place to lose yourself surrounded by nature and some lovely sculpture carvings. Haven't yet done the circulation walk but will do over the next couple of weeks. Not sure where to park? I parked in a layby up towards Cainhoe Wood golf club and walked back to the woods. It looks like you can walk from here up to Chicksands wood, which I will give a go at.Perfect for families so kids can go exploring, and picnic benches around the woods too.

Lovely place to walk, play or have a pic-nic. There's a small carpark opposite the council office.Really great place, can be muddy in the winter months when off the normal walkways so wear boots or wellies to explore!
