Edinburgh Castle Dog Cemetery
Fitting reminder of our love for dogs and their gift of unconditional love to us. The small graveyard is home to about 20 headstones. Many of the engravings have worn away over time, but the oldest visible inscription is from 1881, a dedication to Jess, band pet of the Black Watch 42nd Royal Highlanders. The youngest headstone commemorates Winkle, who died in 1980.

A beautiful and respectful tribute to the dogs who served the Edinburgh Castle. The dog cemetery is located at the foot of the rampart where the Mons Meg stands. From there one looks down on the small cemetery.

A beautiful tribute to mans most loyal companion, showing the importance of our pets to us. Queen Victoria certainly had a soft spot for dogs
