We were looking for conveyancing to be done for a recent house purchase.After having failed to obtain a response from our enquiry to another Devizes solicitor, we were so pleasantly surprised by that from the team at Awdry, Bailey & Douglas.They were friendly, accommodating - but most importantly - diligent and professional in the service they provided for us.Their fees were competitive too!

All good so far, have just purchased a house.

My experience of this company has been terrible .I approached them to do the conveyancing on a flat sale in Devizes and although I have paid them in full 9 months ago, matters to do with the apportionments are still outstanding.ie I still have not received outstanding money owed to me by the flat freeholder paid in advance by me for service charges seemingly because this solicitor did not ,according to the freeholders, ask for an up to date statement of account whilst doing the conveyancing. Of course this year has been difficult with two lockdowns and I have been very patient but it has been very difficult to get any straight answers from them or even a return phone call . They have been less than truth full blaming the freeholders who because I believed my solicitor ,I was having to chase to retrieve my money. Although I made AB&D aware ;verbally ,of the overpayment before the sale ,and was assured that it would be sorted in the apportionments. I am wondering if they are in breach of their contract with me as I paid for a full proper and professional service 9 months ago. So after 9 months of phoning, asking and waiting with no results yet I give you one star.
