Chequer Mead Car Park

Large car park on both sides of the road, and rarely runs out of spaces.

I went in to caffe there, and at last I think that they are getting there act together polite help full all round grate serves and welcoming good coffee too and not expensive,very clean

If you're looking for a car park then what more could you ask for, lots of spaces and machines to take your money

Great place to park for the theatre

Contains the magniffcent landmark beautiful old water tower. Now converted these days into a millionaire's private home. Was originally placed here to allow for better ease of fighting fires in the surrounding streets. Following loss to extremely large fire of the entirety of the old St Swithun's church Vicarage buildings. That used to stretch into the left hand car park here opposite the old water tower. It was destroyed by fire because the local town firemen back then in Victorian times could not maintain water pressure to their hoses, to put out the fire. Hence it raged largely unfought, unsuppressed. And a wall of flame ran rampant throughout the buildings once there opposite the current site today of the old water tower.

Couple of charging points and looking to increase current number. £5 for 4 hours.

Perfect place for a Covid 19 test!Drive in center is one for East Grinstead. Easy access though I find the bays a little tight.Always fascinated by the tower there. Amazing to see close up.

Reasonably priced car park with good access to the town centre.

Very central for shopping in East Grinstead pay and display also has 2 charging spaces
