Took a vehicle in for a service and inspection under a commercial contract. Timed slot. Very professional and polite staff. Clean environment. Refreshment offered while i waited. Theres also customer washroom facilities.Location is a bit remote if you are having to drop off or collect. No public transport available.A very good service. In and out in 90mins.

Best garage in the area by far. For a service , minor /major repairs or simply a tyre nothing is too much trouble & booking your vehicle in couldn't be simpler. The staff are helpful & knowledgeable & vehicles are treated with care. You are kept abreast of cost & work is not undertaken without your permission. I have personally used TRS for many years & now other family members use them too with equally great results.

Seven other friends/family used to use TRS, including a business with a fleet of vans. However, in the past 2-3 years, they all stopped, sharing negative stories about overcharging, saying things needed doing that didn’t, or driving away with more issues than vehicles went in with.I don’t follow hearsay, and as I had never had an issue, I continued to use them. Then last year I took my car for its yearly MOT & service. I was nearly mis-sold something at the cost of over £100. I was told I really needed it, I told them to double check as it had been done recently, they admitted to the error.I gave the benefit of the doubt, returned in Oct this year for an MOT. When I booked it, I was asked why I wasn’t having my usual service followed by a pushy sales technique to have it similar to the thing I was nearly mis-sold the year prior. I explained that I had returned to Uni and used the trams, so only did a quarter of the usual mileage.I took the car a week later for its MOT, it needed a few things doing to get through, but it did pass. After passing the MOT, when a car should be at its safest, when attempting to drive it away, the handbrake which was fine when I dropped it off that morning, and definitely should have been after just passing an MOT was floppy. I told reception, the mechanic admitted he must have done this during testing. I was told to come back later in the week to repair, I was told to ‘leave it in gear’ when parked until then.I took the vehicle 2 days later and when I phoned later that day for its status, was quoted a price for repair of the handbrake (which should have been safe from the MOT), this despite the mechanic admitting fault prior and them stating they would repair. I complained and was given a sketchy excuse that this may have weakened on the rollers during its test but the damage occurred when I attempted to drive it off their courtyard.Due to the lack of honesty & integrity I said I’d pick it up and take it somewhere else.When I collected, was told as I had been a customer for a long time, and as a ‘goodwill gesture’, they would in fact repair and cover this cost but they couldn’t do it straight away and I was told I have to book it in again the following week, and just to make sure I leave it in gear when I park. I explained we were on holiday the following week so agreed to the week after.I’m pretty laid-back and don’t like causing a fuss, so thought I had been messed around, but at least they had acknowledged this and would rectify these errors.However, the morning after I went out to use the vehicle to take my Son on holiday, this was the first time I’d used it since driving it home from their handbrake inspection on Friday, and it wouldn’t start, it was completely dead, wouldn’t even turn over, hence us having to cancel our holiday.This cannot be a coincidence. Never had an issue with the car in the 4 yrs I owned it and now after taking it in for an MOT and refusing a service, have come away with 2 costly problems that were not there before. The handbrake was fine when I dropped the car off on the morning of the MOT and it should have been in that same condition or safer when I collected it from a passed MOT, it is not possible for me to snap this by taking the handbrake off to pull away on their courtyard. Equally, I have never had any issues with the car breaking down before, it cannot be a coincidence that the first time I try to start the vehicle after bringing it home from their inspection, it is completely dead. I emailed today and left a phone message for the person I dealt with to call me, but nothing.It's not about the money, if these issues were found on the MOT, I’d have happily paid, but the lack of honesty until I show my displeasure is not good and I now won't be using TRS again. I have been using them for about 12 years but I would rather pay and go somewhere reputable to fix the issues they've caused than risk taking it back there for another inspection.I now have members of my friends and family stating ‘I told you so’ after I had defended this company.

After a initial problem with engine management lights on a Fiat Doblo once with a smaller garage and once with a main dealer who could not sort this problem, I ended up with TRS at Ilkeston, who finally sorted the unresolved problem out even letting me use a curtesy car to get me home.I feel all the staff there were great from the very nice lady on reception x to Shaun (hope I’ve got that right) who finally got the problem sorted for me.I’ll use this garage again without doubt!
