I went to the book shop first time since after lockdown and was astonished at the prices of these books. I presume that they are donated and that the charity did not pay for them in order to gain a profit.I was looking for a book to help with my depression and it was a small paperback priced at £10!I can get lower priced used books from The World of Books online so will maybe stick to that. I did however managed to find a book that was better than the other with more content and was only £2.50.I like helping charity and like a bargain but I find this charity book shop too expensive and not many bargains in here I'm afraid.

I haven't been to Hanley for a while, I didn't know they had an RSPCA book shop, it's didn't feel like a charity shop and the 2 girls servo g were lovely and very helpful.

Staff spend more time talking than trying to help you, also prices are a bit on the high side, great charity but stuff can be almost the same price as if you brought new which is a shame as it is a charity i believe in. Books are in a shop next door, but can be pricey, also media dvd's and cd`s can be cheaper elsewhere

I won't be donating here again (the book shop). I understand making money for charity, paying rent etc. But charging RRP (minus 50P) prices is really not very charitable.A charity shop is afterall making money for a particular cause AND offering second goods to people who perhaps can't afford them new.I was shocked to see second paperbacks sold for £8, £5.50 etc. When they are the same or very similar prices online for a brand new copy.I have even seen books in here that are more expensive than buying the same book new from Waterstones. At least be honest with your customers and admit that you are overcharging them and 'this is the reason why."

Not impressed with the book shop at all. The guy basically said he plucks a figure from google to price the books. Results in a 13 year old law book priced at £20 which os £6.99 new on amazon. Needs managing better

Just went in for look at books, did'nt have what I was looking for. Quite expensive compared to my local charity shop where you can get 3 books for a £1.00, they were charging £4.00 for books several years old
