Although I’ve had no trouble with Stacey’s itself, the few times I’ve won lots with them I’ve come across enormous trouble and expense finding an honest and reliable shipping company in their area.After winning a very inexpensive mirror from Stacey’s a few days ago, once again the shipping has proved strangely difficult. And Stacey’s seems wholly unconcerned. Today I ended up just telling them to discard the item because I couldn’t face the hassle or expense (one of their recommended shipping vendors quoted me five times the price of the item — even before I told him its dimension or weight).Stacey’s response? They asked if their could re-enter the item in another auction.Will never bid with them again.Response from Stacey’s:I did send an email to Stacey’s beforehand to ask about shipping but never received a response. Naively, I went ahead and bid anyway — assuming Stacey’s would behave professionally. Sadly, I was mistaken. They were only too happy to keep the paid invoice as well as the mirror. I am delighted though to hear that they will post small objects (which isn’t of course relevant to this conversation).

Stacey's are to be avoided at all costs. I asked for a condition report on two ceramic pieces which they couldn't be bothered to send me. I took a chance and bought the lot (my fault I know !) to find one piece badly damaged. They don't bother answering emails. They are just badly run and don't care. AVOID.

Can I take this opportunity of thanking Mark, and all of the team at Stacey's for such a professional job from start to finish in dealing with my late Father's possessions.From visiting my late Father's house to the auction itself, I cannot fault the process, and how straightforward it was for us at such a difficult time.You have done an amazing job, and on behalf of my brothers and I, thank you.

Lovely to have an auction house on your doorstep..lovely people..but very messy compared to other auction houses not very well laid out.

I contacted Stacey’s to seek assistance with a house clearance for a family member. They were very professional with this task and also very informative regarding specific items that we wished to sell separately. We decided to proceed with Stacey’s auctioning these items and are so pleased that we did. Carl was most helpful when he came to look at the items we were trying sell. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave insight as to how or who to go to for the items he felt he would not be able to sell. He always responded to any query I had about the process of the auction as this was my first time in using an auction house. He updated us on when the auction would take place and was prompt in sending any monies due to us from it. He made me feel at ease throughout the whole process and would certainly use this company again.

A huge thank you to Stacey's Auctioneers for incredibly helpful staff and superb efficiency in arranging Packing & Postage on only part of a lot that I had won - the rest being donated to local charity. Above and beyond normal service - goods delivered as required 3 days after sorting out payments ...Impressed and thank you.

AVOID. THEY SOLD ME FAKE GOLD RINGS! I Bought 2 catalogued and described as 9 carat gold" rings. One was a 9ct yellow gold and one white "9 ct gold" . Immediately after purchase took both rings to my jewelers since the white "gold" ring seemed too light in weight. Well...it turned out that the "white gold" WASN'T GOLD AT ALL
