We took a 45 minute aqua bus tour around Mermaid Quay this morning and had a wonderful time! A smooth journey with excellent views. Extremely well priced too! Only £8 for an adult return ticket. Will definitely come again!

Great and honest service aboard Hydro 1 in January 2019. Tickets are bought on-board. Return fares are cheaper (at least if done on same day). Under 3s don't pay. Beautiful and affordable way to go from Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Castle enjoying the natural scenery of the Taff river (and its birds). We spotted a seagull capturing and gulping a fish.

A bit disappointed. We paid £5 each adult for a trip to Penarth. We choose our boat trip carefully making sure we chose one with commentary. They appear to leave once an hour. The trip was for 45 minutes from Cardiff Mermaid Quay to Penarth return. We bought our tickets from a kindly lady. We made our way onto the boat. There were ramps so made it easy if you had a pushchair. We sat at the front of the boat but we could not hear the commentary. It was a bit worrying as there would have been a safety message on this too. So no ideas where the life jackets were. Half way through the journey we moved to the middle of the boat, although this was slightly better, we could not hear for children crying. Although this was not the children's or the boat companies fault. Coming back from Penarth we sat at the back of the boat and although this was a lot better I did not hear any commentary at all for the engine, but at least did not hear the children crying. Been out on the bay was lovely, seeing the sea birds diving and other boat users and the fresh sea air. The boat was clean. I would recommend a better sound system which would make the trip more enjoyable. Someone to greet you when you board the boat would have been nice too, with a helping hand if needed. Customer service 2/3 out of 5.

Would have had a review had I/we had the opportunity to use the service. Booked a weekend break in Cathedral road from Sunday 20th Feb. to Tuesday 23rd Feb. Took a stroll through Sophia Gardens on the Monday through to the Bute park terminus with a view to sampling the delights of the Bay area. The notice board advised that the service would be running every hour from 10am.,However, after waiting for about 20 minutes along with another half dozen potential passengers and trying the two enquiry line numbers without success we caught the bus (after a long slog to the pick up point in town) to the bay area. Went for a boat trip round the Bay where we found out that the Aquabus was not running that day. At no point in Bute park or the Mermaid Quay terminus was there a sign to mention that the service wasn't running that day. I think it shows there is a complete lack of any customer care, a total disrespect for customer expectations.Very Disappointed.

What a disappointment on Saturday 23rd July 2016 we waited for the bus but there was far to many people for just the one bus so the man told us not to worry there is another on its way in about 10 mins. So about 30 of us waited and yes it arrived unloaded it's passengers and went back to the bay with a empty bus. What a bunch of idiots and bad business people they are. Best use the other company. Went to Cardiff/Bay for a day trip.Checked the internet which stated the boat leaves Cardiff Castle on the hour.Walked down to the pick up point to find sign saying the only boats on the day left on the 1/2 hour & I had missed it by 5 mins.I went to Cardiff 2 weeks ago & couldn't use them because I missed it because they weren't running to time.Timings unreliable at my experiences.
