Chris the Smith

A days blacksmithing is a truly unique experience I'd recommend to everyone. Chris has a good way of teaching that helps you when it's tricky but let's you get hands on to try everything yourself. He's clearly very talented and you feel like you're getting 1-on-1 time with a genuine expert in his craft.Definitely bring snacks and drinks as it's a long hot day if you're not used to it!

Absolutely amazing day with Chris the Smith! Chris is a very knowledgeable, experienced master of his craft and an excellent teacher taking us step by step through the process of making a leaf key ring. If you're looking for an experience day like no other, I can highly recommend a visit.

My son and I went on an experience day today with Chris and what a fantastic day we had. Chris was patient, explained everything clearly from start to finish. If you want something different for a present or just to do yourself, can't recommend Chris highly enough.

Spent a day with Chris at his workshop and had a great time. It was my first time blacksmithing (not sure if it's a verb :)). Chris is a great teacher giving very clear guidance on the practical steps and tools to use as well as the theory/science behind it. His passion is infectious - so I would argue it's impossible not to have a great experience - and probably want to do it again. In one day I managed to make the two pieces below, saying I've never done it before I was rather proud of myself.Can't recommend more highly. Will definitely be back.Thanks Chris for a great day.

Chris is as talented at teaching as he is at blacksmithing and that’s a high bar in both counts. I cannot recommend this day highly enough, I have already booked a return visit and cannot wait for the next session. As a break from the daily grind, it is worth every penny. As a day of learning a new skill, it is worth every penny. You will not regret booking one of these experience days.

I was gifted a day-long experience with Chris for my birthday. He is such a fantastic teacher and a lovely bloke too. It was excellent value for money, and a lot of fun. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services.

Had a grand day with Chris. Made sure I fully understood the process in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. By the end of the day I felt confident in my newly found skills and was very pleased with the end result.Would very much like to return and create another piece. ☺️
