Lovely salon. Friendly staff. I got my haircut by the youngest stylist.she was brilliant. Listened to me. Made great suggestion and gave ma a great haircut!

A new salon in Aberdeen, delivering high quality service at a better price (compared to the likes of James Dunn House). VERY innovative in cut and colouring techniques due to being trained at highest levels.

Gill is the most amazing hairdresser. Always full of inspiration and sends you off looking totally fabulous!

Had a very strange experience with this salon that left me totally perplexed. Was booked for colour correction with the owner for today. She booked me in after a thorough consultation and I had to wait for almost two months for the appointment which I was happy to do after reading all the good reviews. I was booked in for 12:40. I put it in my diary straight away. I never ever missed, or was late for my hair appointment in my life. My entire family works in beauty and I know how frustrating and stressful it is when clients are late.I am self employed so had to arrange my work schedule accordingly for today (which was not easy) to make sure I get to my appointment on time. I am also disabled and was not feeling well today but I never cancel even if I am unwell, especially after waiting for so long.I just don’t want to upset the stylist. My husband took time off work to help me at my business today and had to drive me to my appointment. He lost 300£ by taking a day off. With his help I managed to finish everything early and by 12:00 I was in town 2 minutes walk away from the salon. Thought I should go there earlier and maybe wait but didn’t want to turn up too early and stress anyone out so wandered around town for a bit. By 12:25 exactly I was at the door. I saw the owner rushing out the main door with bin bags, she seemed in a hurry. I waved and said “don’t worry, I turned up too early, I’ll wait”. The owner told me that I am half an hour late, that I no longer have and appointment, and that she can no longer do my hair since she has so many clients coming in soon. I couldn’t believe it. She also showed me her calendar with a different time on it and said I should have been there at 12:00. I am very organized and checked my calendar and it says 12:40. I understand it could have been mine or her mistake or a misunderstanding since the appointment was booked long time ago. Things happen. But I really don’t like how this situation was handled. I really don’t understand why she didn’t call me if she was in fact waiting for me for half an hour. If I was waiting for a client who was booked for half a day and they were even just 10 minutes late I would definitely call them. Strange. I also found it strange that during my consultation I was told it will be just me and the owner in that day because it’s such a long (half day) appointment and because it’s my first time getting hair done there. But when I turned up the owner told me she had too many people coming in soon and is too busy to do my hair. I wanted to reschedule but I was not even invited inside and told that I will get a text. The owner told me she has to run to get her lunch. I also found that really odd, if she said I was booked for 12:00 why would she be in such a rush to get lunch at 12:30?By end of day I got no text, nothing. Waste of time and loads of money. Wish we just worked today. Caused unnecessary hassle to my husband and loads of stress to myself.

Seanne is brilliant with me and knows how to stop me from coming up with crazy ideas. I am so relaxed that my fitness watch thinks I'm sleeping.

Smoking Mirrors has a lovely ambience and I’ve had my hair done by Gill a few times now and she is so accommodating and so so talented!Couldn’t recommend smoking mirrors enough :)
