The Church Bar & Restaurant

A group of us from Our Lady of Grace School, Biddulph, went on Friday 20th July for a Year 6 leavers meal. We all had a fantastic time. The food was lovely and the service was great. A special thank you goes to Wayne Doyle and his staff for making the evening so good. The atmosphere was superb and we will be definitely going again.

Staff very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Had the three courses for £17.95. Special mention to the lovely homemade mushroom soup with generous portion of bread and butter. Nice surroundings, will be visiting again soon.

Been going to the Church a long time. But first time this year, firstly 8 of us stood outside the restaurant because none of us could open the door so we had to phone the restaurant to come let us in. The toilet floor was covered in wee and the decor needs revamped their is nothing on the walls apart from old sellotape marks and two notices. BUT and yes there's a BUT best blinking food I've ever had yummy.

I went for our Christmas works do and its such a beautiful restaurant. Set in an old church it still retains the wonderful stain glass window and period type furnishings.The food is lovely, including vegetarian choices too.I'd recommend a try at this unusual setting.I loved it

Although there was an issue with getting our drinks the food was excellent and the staff worked very hard to make our experience a good one. There was only 3 staff on and one was helping out and she worked lime a trooper. Don't know how they would of coped without her

Sadly, I have to say it was one of the worst resturants I have been to in Stoke on trent. The atmosphere was OK but I was disappointed with each course - the bread tasted cheap and was burnt, the garlic bread had large chucks of garlic and whilst being part of the dish only arrived after querying when it would arrive. Portions were small and some of the food was cold. On a positive note, the price however was reasonable.

Probably the worst service I've ever experienced. Booked a mother's day meal for 7 people for 2:30pm. We weren't seated until 3:45pm and weren't even given menus until around 4pm after asking for them 3 times... Food wise - not really much seasoning on anything and the roast potatoes had obviously been reheated as they were impossible to chew through. Everything else was pretty average. We had to clear our own plates as no one came to do it, and then desserts were brought whilst our dirty dishes were still on the end of our table which we had moved for them. At the end of this horrendous meal the extremely rude 'front of house' lady did very little in the way of apologies, and also accidentally charged us £92 extra for drinks on the table which we didn't have... Another 10 minutes stood at the till trying to sort this out really topped off the fact that this is a terribly ran and managed restaurant, with inexperienced staff. We saw 3 waiters set a table between them - no wonder our service was so slow.

Visited with 13 other family members for an evening meal, the food was lovely it all arrived reasonably quick could not fault anything. The staff were all very helpful and worked very hard to ensure we had a nice evening, the place itself was different and nice for a change, it was a freezing cold night but still very warm and cosy at this venue. Great!!!

Just had my leaving party yesterday for 60 people. Never thought there was a club it's brilliant quality place. Reserved an area for us, Staff are excellent, place is very clean and tidy, really good sound system for that place. Great for group parties as you can a special place. Bit expensive platters though but I did not worry as you always know you get what you pay for. Keep it up guys good work. Extremely happy from the first call to finish of the party. Highly recommended.

We went for early meal with kids. Setting and staff are all lovely. Main courses were OK but we were shocked to be offered 'cheese' from a packet for our pasta dishes!However, the cakes are amazing and a fantastic selection. We will go back but for afternoon tea which I believe you need to pre book so they can bake scones fresh for you.
