This church is really worth a visit. The masses are in latin and mass books in English and Latin are available. It has an amazing air of Peace and Tranquility. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Low Mass and Compline (the evening prayers) sung in Gregorian harmonies, totally breathtaking (check their website for times). Sunday Mass is also a must. Canons Weaver, Montjean and Poucin are really welcoming. The architecture inside and out is beautiful. Open daily.

Built in the Basilllca style, this church is of interest historically because whilst being an effectively new build at the outbreak of the second world war it was sited on the highest point overlooking the estuary of the Mersey. The dome was the first sight of home for sailors on the convoys and also when it was in sight was physical evidence they were in range of anti submarine air cover

Contacted Joyce at the last minute to check that the church was open, and she came up and gave us a guided tour herself. The church is a genuinely beautiful building, lovingly restored to create a peaceful and prayerful space, with superb views from the outside.

An amazing church, architecturally it feels like the sort you would find in Malta
