The Barley Sheaf at Gorran
Two of us for Sunday lunch. The starters were lovely, grouse and chicken wings. Beautifully cooked. The main meal, we both had pork loin. Two small thin slices of pork, no crackling and a little tasteless. Vegetables were nicely cooked and fresh. Disappointed that the main meal was not good value for money in our view. Shame because it has been good in the past.

Fully booked for food when we arrived but the friendly staff managed to slot us in. Started with a warm foccacia with salted butter which was lovely. For main, I had sausages and mash and the hubby had burger and fries and we both thought that our dishes were awesome. Unfortunately too full for pudding but means we will have to go back again!

Exceptional food, lovely atmosphere, very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. When we commented on how exceptional the sticky toffee pud is (oh my word is it good) we were treated to tips and tricks to level up our game should we ever want to, and details of the 4 generation old recipe. It was a foodie treat.

Well worth a trip. Michelin quality food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. Head Chef Dan was on hand to talk us through the menu and even gave us some extra sides that we loved. Can't recommend this place enough
