Our menu choices were inedible - and not as described. The sweet red pepper soup had far too much tabasco so was super hot, not at all sweet, and although I requested a vegan portion I was served buttery garlic bread! Even worse was the vegetable casserole" which was actually a small portion of rice (which we suspected was leftover paella from the previous day)

We work in hospitality and know how hard it can be, so were looking forward to the very much anticipated opening of the Bothy this year but sadly it did not live up to expectations. If you want to endear yourself to the locals, spelling Stornoway correctly on your menu would be a good start. Service was woeful. People who arrived after us, served before us. Drinks order still not arrived after 15 minutes and only delivered when we asked when to expect them. Fish pie more like fish soup with blocks of potatoes and very little fish. Cauliflower and cashew nut curry (£19.95) with no cashews and dry rice. Curry tasted like out of a jar. Chicken burger, we asked for ketchup for the chips, and told supplies hadn't arrived". Great dog friendly pub and cafe with lovely views. We had a takeaway coffee earlier in the day and then a nice evening meal of fish and chips and the steak. Highly recommended!.

Nice atmosphere relaxed bar/cafe with a variety of seating. A few Knick knacks you could purchase (these cost more than I had seen at other shops on the island). A nice book swap wall (can also leave a donation for a book if none to swap). We tried to contact them by email and phone in the days before visiting to try to find out about the menu and to book a table but got no response. Turned up and was able to get a barstool seat though other tables were booked. Only had the nachos - a reasonable sized portion at around £9.50 (but no cheese?!).

Visited the Bothy having booked for dinner. As soon as we arrived were told several dishes were not available. We were very limited in our choice. Had black pudding for starter, it was shrivelled and dry. Both had a burger which was below average in a cold roll. The food was expensive as were the local beers, 50% mark up. Staff nice but feel taking advantage of limited market in area and need to rethink.

Stopped when passing by. Nice inside, good views and friendly service. Food was very good. Overall, I would recommend. Parking could be an issue but there are areas nearby that are not passing places which would only require a short walk.

Lovely little place. It’s was a Friday we came for food, place was busy which is good to see, while still having a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are great and very welcoming. We had the Haddock which was amazing. Highly recommend this place

We stopped for coffee and cake, wish we had planned to have lunch or dinner here! Great food, a great cappuccino, view of the sea, and service, a lovely stop. Gluten free desserts were delicious.A delightfully trendy little spot with a laid back atmosphere. I highly recommend a stop here!

Great atmosphere, local people and tourists make this place special with good food and beers. Very clean, toilet included!
