Staff generally ok, one staff member in particular shone above the disinterested rest. She was the only shining light from our visit unfortunately. Food was actually pretty decent apart from being cold and arriving with missing components. The teapot using one tea bag was like pouring rusty water. Just felt like little thought or care went into food/meal prep which took away from the buoyant atmosphere and potential at front of house. Wouldn’t rush back.

Thoroughly enjoyed eating my halloumi shawarma - it was filling and so delicious - including hummus, sour cream, flat bread and salad. All round a good worth of money. The atmosphere was lovely and aesthetic - my only gripe is that one of the sofas we were sat on was torn and we could see the foam peaking through.Also, had a brilliant time with the bottomless pancakes - they were so fluffy and the syrup so sweet and succulent that honestly it was more than I could have wished for. Does get a bit sickening after 3+ rounds though!

Beautiful restaurant. With plenty of choices. The calamari is delicious! The chicken burger was a little dry, and the mayo was quite spicy. So neither of us managed to finish it. The desserts were lovely and well presented. The staff did a wonderful job of being attentive and welcoming. Overall a good experience and I would definitely return to try their other main dishes.

The service could be improved as we kept putting our hand up to get the bill and we saw that the servers were just having a chat by the till which they wasn't even aware of there customers trying to get service.Food is nice and at a reasonable price.We ordered our food alongside with our friends and they forgot mine and my partners order, so we didn't get our order till after everyone's mains had finished. So I guess maybe time how many people are ordering food and make sure it all comes out together.

The flavours of the food were incredible, especially the meatballs! We were seated outside with a lovely view of the river and Katy was super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend a visit to Bills in Chelmsford. 5 stars ⭐️

The best Hot Chocolate ever I tasted here only.You have to visit this place as you will get a beautiful outdoor sitting near the riverside.The food tasted good.

Ended up at Bill's after looking for a 'gluten free friendly' restaurant in Chelmsford on a Friday night - locals will know this can be a challenge without booking ahead! The evening we visited it was very warm (heatwave) so we were able to enjoy the lovely outside seating area next to the river. This space has been put together beautifully with comfortable seating and umbrellas - it was a lovely atmosphere. The interior is also lovely, certainly a nice place to have dinner inside or outside. Nice selection of meals on the menu, with vegan and vegetarian options clearly shown as well as a separate gluten free menu with plenty of choice. I selected the gluten free chicken shawarma - it was well cooked, great flavours. I enjoyed it very much. Good service, good food, good atmosphere. As a person with coeliac disease eating here with friends with no dietary requirements, I'd certainly visit again.

Ate here on a Monday night. No reservation needed. Five of us. Good amount of vegan choices. I had the dirty Vegan burger with truffle sauce which was really tasty. My friends had beef burgers and the sea bass. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I also had the roasted beetroot starter with flatbread which was really nice as well. Decor good and staff friendly. Parking available at tesco 1 minute walk away. 3 hours free if you spend £5. Or bond Street parking (multistory).Good drink options.Breakfast /brunch /lunch and dinner options. Including bottomless prosecco brunch and afternoon tea choice.

We had a lovely breakfast outside in the sunshine. Our waitress was friendly and polite. The food was so good.We went back the following day for dinner that also was brilliant. I'll definitely be returning.

Good choice for breakfast, although the dinner menu seems to have been trimmed down a bit in the past couple of years. It's not the cheapest place, but food is good quality and portions are fairly decent.Was a little disappointed with service this time. I asked what one of the dishes was and our waitress didn't know, which is fair enough. But then she didn't offer to actually go and find out, so we were forced to resort to Google, which was unexpected...
