Cracking pub right on the edge of the Sea, the ferries continuously arrive and depart right outside the pub! There's a small seating area outside by a cobbled road, which is still used by traffic, so be careful. Across the cobbled Road is an outdoor area where drinkers can hang out. When the weather is good, it's a perfect place to unwind right next to the sea. The pub is only a 10 min walk from Gunwharrf Quays, and has a more local feel to it than other pubs full of tourists or shoppers. The food and service are both excellent and there's a good range of local ales.

A great location with a vibrant atmosphere, with (reasonably) peaceably spilling out onto the street in good weather. Outdoor seating with drinks served in plastic beakers for those drinking outside or venturing across the road. However, slow, inattentive and impersonal bar service. Customers practically queuing out the door and only 1 of 4 bar staff actually serving at the taps! Lots of beers off". Could do better!"

Had a lovely stop at Spice Island Inn for a pint and a pie. Sat outside to watch the world go by as the sun set. The pies were delicious. The staff were friendly. And the atmosphere was welcoming. Worth the walk along Millennial Trail.

Not a foodie spot. When you have to go to the bar to place your food order, it’s never that great. Should have known better.Location is great, the pub itself is lovely but I assume it’s ratings are down to it being good drinking spot, not the food.Probably the worst meal I’ve eaten out and it wasn’t cheap either!

This place is just the best. Beautiful traditional pub situated in Old Portsmouth. The best harbour views and The Spinnaker. Brilliant. Can honestly say the burgers were the best I have ever tasted. Wine was gorgeous. Mid price range and for the atmosphere and fab location, couldn't wish for more. Can't wait to go back.

It’s a shame as I do love this place. We booked festive online and paid a deposit and turned up expecting to have our table, no one called to take a pre order so we didn’t know we wouldn’t have a table set up, but we were lucky enough to be able to have a table in the end which was set ready for the next day. Just wasn’t as smooth as turning up and it was all sorted considering we pre booked well in advance, we assumed it was just all sorted. I then didn’t read what came with the turkey dinner, should have really because it’s not the same as a previous time I went, or like you would expect no stuffing, no Yorkshire pudding. We wouldn’t choose here again for our annual Christmas meal which is a shame as the place is set in a beautiful place. Staff were however lovely! The area we ended up sitting in was also lovely.The turkey was super lovely and the gravy. And the Yorkshire was once we spoke to staff and went up to the bar and ordered some.

Excellent company, excellent location, please. Please do not come here. I need it all to myself. Food is very well cooked drinks are well poured and the ambience of this place is delightful. We'll be coming back to bring my children and my family. And I recommend the seafood options and probably has the best chips in Portsmouth and the best cider for those that are fussy with the alcoholic beverages, in addition. I would like to make a special mention. The ambience of the place makes me feel like I am in a mediterranean country very close to the ocean and very close to mother.
