Ray is an ultimate professional and a highly skilled luthier. I have entrusted him with numerous vintage guitars that a lot of people would be intimidated by and he has performed amazing work on everyone. Not only getting it back to its best but that you wouldn’t even notice anything had been touched on it. Ray is an absolute credit to the community of Liverpool musicians.

Ray was amazing from start to finish. I contacted him via email and discussed what I thought I needed. I popped in with my Gibson Les Paul Robot guitar and Fender p bass. Ray talked me through what he was going to do. He said he would contact me if there would be extra costs before doing any work. (Luckily no extra work needed). Within a day I received a call to and collect my guitars. I brought them home today and the are immaculate.I am so happy with the work done. I will definitely be bring my other guitars in to Ray

Ray was great. He helped identify the problems with the guitar, then fixed the electronics, sourced the parts and some other bits and bobs. He was also able to do some detective work on the origins of the guitar. Excellent service. Good price. Would recommend and use again.

Took both my Gibson Les Paul Junior, and Fender Mustang in for some hardware changes and set-up. Everything was done quickly and to a great standard, for a fair price. Will bring other guitars to Ray in future. Nice fella, and top quality work.

On Ray's recommendation he replaced the tuning heads, and upgraded the plastic nut to a bone one. My Les Paul copy now holds tune perfectly and I'm delighted with the result. Ray's a true gentleman and provides a first class service at a reasonable cost, couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Took my Vintage (brand) Les Paul to Ray for a refit / upgrade with new tuners, wiring, pots, pickups… and I am very pleased, putting it mildly…it’s a Fantastic job. The guitar is now gorgeous, plays easily and sounds great. Reasonable cost too and it’s at least as good as a Gibson!I’ll be back…

Ray is a total legend, I took in an unloved martin I bought off marketplace and he worked his magic. He got set it up and it looks/sounds fantastic. Would recommend him for any guitar repairs/luthier jobs. Will be back in the future. Cheers Ray.

I cracked my Taylor acoustic in multiple places on the front and I thought it was a gonna. I spoke to Ray at Palfray Guitars and he was always very optimistic about the job and so I left it with him for a week or so and when I went to pick it up, I couldn't believe the results! Still played really well and he made it look better than I could ever imagine. Safe to say I will be returning to Ray at Palfray Guitars in the future with other Guitars that need a revamp and a bit of TLC. I fully endorse and recommend anyone and everyone to visit Palfray Guitars, as well as being a really nice fella Ray is clearly very talented and incredible at his job with very reasonable prices. Get down there. You won't regret it!

Took the guitar to Ray which had a problem with the wiring of the pickups. Not only did he resolve the problem he gave the guitar a set up which now plays perfectly. Great service done with professionalism and experience. Would definitely use again.
