Absolutely fantastic school. Cant recommend highly enough! Nothing is too much trouble for My Online Schooling, the support they offer parents and students is second to none, and the standard of education is excellent. The flexibility of being able to access lessons from wherever you are is invaluable and the system they use is easy to navigate and high tech. If you are looking for a school for education for your child, support, extra curricular groups, a broad spectrum of subjects with new ones being added all the time, then look no further! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My three children (year 3, 5, and 6) completed their first term with MyOnline. We chose MOS because it is important for me that my children have virtual classes to connect with other students. MOS provides not only the virtual classroom, but the flexibility of watching the recorded classes later in case the class was missed or it needs to be reviewed for notes. Most of the teachers have a positive energy and have demonstrated their desire for teaching through engaging classroom discussion or exciting activities. Great teachers include: Caroline Moore and Bethany Jamieson,Jennifer Pasley, Jodie Green (math) and Susan Miller (computer science). One teacher has poor internet connection. I would recommend teachers who are hired are required a certain level of internet speed in order to resolve this issue. Response time from most teachers is also relatively quick, taking on average 24 hours. One big adjustment coming from a traditional classroom to an online one was the way teachers organise and grade. Each subject has its own webpage on the Canvas website and teachers set up their page how they like. Some are more organised than others. Those that are organised use the designated tabs accordingly. For example, the assignments tab shows new work to be done at the top of the page, and they clearly mark which work has been graded. Other teachers, the more disorganised, don’t utilise the tabs and you may find homework in the modules tab (which is designated for the lessons). This has caused a bit of a headache in regards to organising ourselves and maintaining work. Another issue we encountered several times was that an assignment would have two different due dates. We would submit work on time, but later it would pop up that it was submitted late. The grading system is also slightly confusing with MOS. Some teachers don’t grade any assigned work, while others grade everything. Some grade right away with feedback while others take weeks. Then there are some teachers that grade only certain assignments. Therefore, if a child completes 10 assignments, but only three are graded, the overall average weighs a lot on only three pieces of work when the child in reality worked hard on more assignments. Quick feedback is CRITICAL for kids motivation and learning. They need to know they are being graded so they can improve. Term reports are based on effort, behaviour, and the homework. My oldest child received a low grade for one subject even though he had outstanding marks and comments from his teacher for the homework throughout the term. The teacher explained it was because my son is shy and does not participate as much as the other students. It is my opinion that with an online school system, it is hard for teachers to make connections with students and therefore more challenging to guide students towards success. Had the teacher reached out prior to see if my son needed more help or another way to engage with him, I believe his grade would have been more appropriate and deserving of the student my child is. The teacher does not know my son, and it was easier to mark him low instead of reaching out and working with us and this may be because he only sees my son once per week for one hour. We also did not see any issue until the term report was received because there was no communication from the teacher, only positive remarks regarding the work. The school could improve by setting one standard and teachers operate the same way in regards to grading and organisation. The MOS clubs are wonderful! Emma Thompson (science club) is dynamic, passionate, and does not tolerate rude distractions. My children also enjoy journalism club.Callum McGregor, our parent liaison, is always available and professional. He responds to emails in a timely manner and answers questions with diligence and care. He has made me feel heard and that in turn has helped us significantly with our first term. We will be continuing with MOS and think it is a great option for those looking to switch to online.

What a wonderful medium to provide kids the opportunity to attend school when attending school is not an option. I will recommend this school to anyone who needs it and commend the teachers on the wonderfull work they do.
