We've been visiting The Pack Horse 7 years now and it never fails to disappoint. Beautiful location, fabulous accommodation, Linda and Brian feel more like friends now! We've stayed at all times of the year and it's our wind down week away. Can't recommend it enough.

Had a wonderful time in Rose apartment.Great facilities and very comfortable.Linda made us very welcome is very helpful with places to eat and visit.Tranquil setting, relaxed stay with the sound of the river running by the window.Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous!! The location and host's Brian & Linda are just perfect :) The standard of the room and grounds are out of this world! Dog friendly and amazing walks just round the corner. Linda even sorted us a table for a Sunday roast at a local pub (which was amazing!) :) If you want a get away from the real world look no further!!

We have just returned from a glorious week, staying at The Pack Horse, Allerford, Exmoor.From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the hosts, Wills and Paul, and received Wills’s home made scones, with jam and clotted cream, delicious!The setting is stunning, adjacent to Allerford Pack Horse Bridge, with beautiful surrounding views and walks.We stayed in Rose apartment, comfortable and well equipped accommodation for 2-3, we had everything we needed, including the sound of the babbling brook outside the window and a courtyard garden for all guests to use.This is a great place to stay and offers lots of opportunities to explore the surrounding area of Exmoor. I highly recommend it.Thank you to Wills and Paul for your kind welcome and for making us feel very comfortable, hope we will return again soon.

Stayed in Wisteria for a week in September 2022 & didn't want to come home. A fantastic holiday. Comfortable accomodation, providing everything you need for self-catering. Paul & Wills, the new owners are welcoming & helpful. Cream tea on arrival was delicious. A perfect place to stay to explore this part of Exmoor with a diverse range of walks on the doorstep. Allerford is a beautiful village. We are planning a return visit.

My wife and I had a great time at the Pack Horse Inn, Allerford. We stayed in 'Wisteria', a fantastic self catering apartment that suited us perfectly. Clean, cosy and the perfect base for long country walks right from the doorstep, we couldn't fault it.Owners Paul and Wills were very welcoming and gave helpful advice when we asked about local walks, the delicious scones on arrival were a nice touch, making our stay feel special from the get-go!Highly recommendedMatt 44

I visited the Packhorse with my wife and daughter from the 29th of August to the 5th of September; the accommodation was very comfortable with lovely views and a charming courtyard. We were astounded by the natural beauty that surrounded us and felt that the whole area made for a very relaxing stay. The place is wonderful and Linda and Brian are incredibly friendly. They made sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at their lovely Rose Cottage, which backed on too a stream. We would love to come back one day; it really is a hidden jewel and a place to visit.The Coopers.

My husband, 9 year old daughter and I stayed in Wisteria 6-20 August. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely return. Lynda and Brian are really friendly and welcoming. They did all they could to ensure that we had an enjoyable time and the complimentary cream teas they provide on arrival and each Friday are a great added bonus.The accommodation is furnished to an extremely high standard and was absolutely spotless on arrival. There's plenty of outdoor furniture for guests to use in the sheltered courtyard.Allerford and the surrounding villages are beautiful with a great community spirit and lots going on. If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax and unwind, I recommend The Packhorse.

We stay often at The Packhorse. It is my absolute happy place. It’s right on the edge of Exmoor, lovely accommodation, dog friendly, walks straight from the property and Linda and Brian are the most amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Go visit, you will not be disappointed.

Have visited this accomodation off and on for last 20+ years had honeymoon here too. Thoroughly enjoyed every stay. The hosts Linda and Brian - very friendly and accommodating. Excellent overall.
