St. Andrew's Church
This is a local church hall which provides local social services (preschool classes etc) and church related activities. They do a great afternoon tea with homemade cakes, but check which days! My usual visits are for our blood donations service, which has a regular slot here over the several events of the year.

I have been a member of St Andrew's Church for years. It may not be the most quaint of churches but it has a lovely atmosphere and is conducive to contemplation and peace. There have been many different vicars who all brought something special, something of God, to the church. Our current vicar, Nigel, is a progressive minister who allows us to celebrate our faith and also to share questions of doubt and concern about that faith, the Bible and Christian values in the twenty first century. We feel we are a community learning and growing together within the love of God. We value this.

We have been helped and encouraged over the last 20 years by the very friendly and welcoming people at St Andrews and especially by our present vicar who expresses an inclusive and non threatening way to express our faith. Betty and Mark

St Andrew’s Church is very welcoming. As a visitor from a neighbouring parish, I very much enjoy the Services and Nigel Jones gives excellent talks.

I moved to Caversham in 2012 to start a new life after my husband died in 2009. I didn't 'find' St Andrews for a year or two, but as soon as I shared my worship there I found friendship and faith in a caring church community whose Christian ethos extends well beyond the Victorian building with the bonus of a magnificent organ. St Andrews extends Christian faith in the widest and truest sense to encompass all in the community, reaching out to those with varying needs, in terms of local charities as well as global ones, with an active food bank and encouragement to learn about other faiths within our neighbourhood.Nigel, our vicar, is not afraid to address Christianity in ways that can be challenging, but which create a healthy questioning of one's perhaps cushioned understanding. So often I have taken his sermons home to ponder, digest, maybe sometimes they have jolted me, this is positive, not negative as invariably a little extra delving into my beliefs sees my own faith growing and developing as a result.Throughout this turbulent and difficult year, Nigel has worked beyond any call of duty to ensure St Andrew's remains part of its community, supporting us all through such different times. I for one have appreciated this with enormous gratitude. Over these past months I have felt ever more part of the St Andrews family, where faith, friendship and, yes, laughter, have been the best possible support. The way to tackle change is to change, and I find that St Andrews has not been afraid to look to this.

The Church Hall is part of St Andrew’s Church next door. A very conveniently located building working for the community and a very welcome facility too. There’s car park on site that can be used by the Church goers and alike.

This church building has a subdued but intuitive beauty and serenity. The congregation welcomes visitors and new arrivals without being too hearty. It includes people from many parts of the world - some with flashes of eccentricity, ranging from a fondness for old bawdy songs to skills of Continental country cooking and wines, also there are poets, light aircraft pilots, and small children, all of whom mingle well. There is much laughter at social events. we have a good mixture of saints and sinners -who understand each other quite well. It is a inclusive" church in the sense of proclaiming the Good News to all -without exception. It prays for all. Nigel
