Royal Commons Park
Nice local open space - good play equipment. Some of the equipment could do with some maintenance... Would be a pity to neglect such a great initiative

Royal Commons Park
Royal Commons Park is a very posh sounding name for what is actually no more than a square of grass playing field with a play area & fitness equipment in one corner. There are a couple of benches, but the public toilet in the opposite corner adjoining Bramford Lane, has been boarded up & is inaccessible due to council cutbacks. Along the far side of the field is a tiny copse crammed beside the A14, with a trail, so at least making the facility more interesting for those walking dogs. From here there's also access to the old right of way into Bramford village, (but this is really unusable nowadays as it means crossing not only 4 lanes of busy dual carriageway & central barrier, but there's no attempt made nowadays to maintain the footpath). Nonetheless, Alvis Walk from the new housing development does connect the housing estate towards this unmaintained footpath, or otherwise into the Royal Commons Park. Quite a strange, no-mans-land between suburban Ipswich & Bramford, lacking the identity of a park with such a lofty title...

There are bins provided for dog waste but I feel others let it down as there is so much dog waste in the floor. The woodland bit would be nice but it's unsafe as the safety fence has been destroyed so I would not let your dog run free in the trees as there is an ARoad just next to the field.Nice big field with a park

Whenever I find time I go there to relax as it's much quite and calm compared to other parks in the surroundings
