I had a full tour of the club with the General Manager, a hands-on manager who takes pride in his club. Chartham Park continued to impress me throughout the day with an outstanding golf course, gym, pool and spa area. Excellent value for money and has something for everyone.

Good facilities but definitely feels more like a kids club, if you're wanting something relaxing then this probably isn't the place for you!

Reviewing as an ex-Health & Fitness member, I will say that I had many happy years using Chartham Park gym and pool. The gym is well-equipped with great views over the golf course. I have now gone and joined a different local pool (The King's Centre) because Chartham Park's swimming pool area gave every illusion of being a health spa (with the jacuzzi, steam room etc), but during the school holidays, there was often an aqua class which was followed straight afterwards by Family Time, not leaving an hour's interval for Lane Swimming sessions. This made it more like a council swimming pool. I felt that lane swimmers were the poor relation to families and Golf members. So for me, in the summer, I was paying too much for only a couple of days per week swimming. So, it was farewell to Chartham Park and all the nice friends I made while being a member there. I now swim at a huge pool and pay a fraction of what I paid before. Lastly but not least. If I mentioned that swimmers were being neglected, there was never an apology, only arguments. Yet I always tried to balance my concerns with positive comments too. Well, thanks a bunch and goodnight.

Really lovely course. The greens are fantastic. The course is very well laid out. The clubhouse is excellent with gym and pool.

Went there for a golf society day. Good quality bacon roll and excellent sausage 'n mash after the golf. Course in very good condition except many bunkers needed raking from recent heavy rains. A good experience . We'll likely be back next year.

Not a bad place but a bit overpriced for what is offering, I found facilities to be often too busy and cramped for my liking, it doesn't take too many people to get in the wet spa to get too busy and cramped, always something is broken or out of service. I had it with the lockers in the changing room. It is a lottery to know which one is actually working, and which one doesnt. Well it takes me a few attempts to get lucky with a working locker, but then hey- ho, i have nothing better to do but searching for my lucky locker" for some time!! It even feels so "rewarding" when i finally got " a winner of a locker

Not a bad place but a bit overpriced for what is offering £80. I had one year of membership. For kids they had a very nice deal and activities, but for me I could ever book my class, it was always on waiting list and not enough place for workout, busy. Staff was never give me a good advise too. But swimming pool was always clean. I recommend this sportclub for people who would like to have friends, there are nice atmosphere with café zon and golf.

Awesome golf course, challenging with a number of features and a lot of bunkers, but greens were fast and relatively true. One of the best courses in the area. Staff were brilliant too, very helpful and welcoming. Only popped up for a midweek twilight round but will be back.

I was a member for two months, used the pool almost every other day for over 30mins. However, one day I was told the pool had one lane free despite scores of children around. 3mins in and a swimming teacher put a net across in front of me and told me I had to stop swimming due to children's lessons. I sent an email to the gym explaining how frustrating it was to have made the journey, got changed, got into the pool only to be turned out after a few minutes. I received an automatic response, not a personal email. As a result I haven't continued my membership. For £90 a month, I'd expect better service as a member, if the pool is open, it should be useable, and if a polite complaint is made, a response is in order. A restaurant is judged by it's service staff and environment as much as it's food.

Whilst I am often apprehensive about courses that are younger than myself (I'm pushing 30), and concerned that they will not feel mature, traditional or have any character, there are no such worries to be had at Chartham Park Golf Club.Following two weeks of not playing and a week of course closures due to snow and frost after a cold snap, I went into my round with no expectations, and a sense of fortune and that I was just lucky to be out! Despite the fact that there were 4 temporary greens due to frost, the rest of the course was very much playable and in good condition for the time of year, especially considering the course had a layer of snow a few days prior, which still remained in a couple of shaded areas. The course itself is a modern, resort style layout, with cart paths lining the holes for those that prefer to ride rather than walk, but at no point does the course feel so modern that it feels too man-made, gimmicky or without character, as similar courses can do far too often. With plenty of water hazards, and a fair few wooded areas, there are still hazards to swallow up your ball and help you rack up a number if you go offline! My favourite holes were the Par 4 6th, with its tight tee shot, and tricky approach into the green; the Par 5 11th, which demands 2 long and straight shots to thread the needle and leave a decent pitch into the green; and finally the Par 3 17th, which can be added to my ever growing list of fantastic par 3 17th holes in the county (alongside Cottesmore GC and Dyke GC amongst others!).In summary, Chartham Park is a fantastic modern facility, which oozes class, character and charm, and I look forward to returning in the summer! For more course reviews across Sussex and beyond, check out my website or Social Media pages!@TheSussexGolfer
