Big enough even when busy

Handy for the beach, but watch out for the car park on the other side of the shops. You only get 1.5 hours. If you exceed that you are fined. It is camera controlled.

Well what can one say about a car park.... its big, clean, but park in the wrong place or on the grass....you will come back to a parking ticket.

Easy parking and right beside the beach. Plenty of EV chargers. Fantastic fish and chips, takeaway and restaurant plus ice cream parlour. Toilets and plenty of waste bins. Green spaces for the kids or the dog to run around.

Popular place for people talking a brisk seaside walk at any time of year. At sunny weekends the car park will be full most of the afternoon so you may have to circle to find a parking bay. If you are hungry after a walk, fish and chips can be eat it or take away from the Coastline" Next to to Coastline is Cicarrelli's ice cream shop that can have queues out the door even on a sunny winter Sunday."

Staff monitoring the queue kept disappearing. Marks on floor inside show where to queue but then nowhere to wait for your order and it was a long wait, I was moving from spot to spot as people kept being allowed in. Despite big sign saying one person from a group come in to order morons came in in couples, oblivious. Staff very young and I wouldn't expect them to challenge them. This place has never been speedy so they are definitely challenged now. Restaurant side appeared to only be serving food outside, lot of staff standing about could have helped speed drink service. Apparently you needed to queue at restaurant for food then in other side for drinks, highly inefficient.This is not a review of the Chip Shop!

Called today with some friends who had travelled from 20mls west of Hexham on our recommendation for the fish and chips served here!Both of my friends are gluten free..The mermaid only serve gluten free on Thursdays??? Although there is no signs etc to alert you to this.so very disappointing. Wont be going back there!!
