First time at Mr Basrai. Food was lovely and tasty, although it was more Indian themed. Staff were attentive even as the place was full. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely visit again

Best place for foodie. Whenever I am Edinburgh I only go for this place variety of options available for everyone, vegetarian, non-vegetarian. Good assistance by the waiters and waitress also clean and hygienic environment

Genuinely the best buffet restaurant we've ever been to. The food was fresh and tasty, the staff were lovely and accommodating and quick to assist you. I'm so disappointed we live far away and can't come back regularly. The chicken samosas were the best I've ever had. Everything was clean, food was hot. So happy we found this place last minute. It's difficult to find a good buffet that makes you want to go back for more every time even though you're stuffed!!

FOOD : As a beef lover, one of my main attraction was roast beef and steaks but these were the ones that disappointed me...the roast beef slice was very hard to cut in pieces with a butter knife...dry to chew as well..then I asked for a medium steak....the thin slice of steak given to me was not medium...was not well done...but more, beyond that....it was very very hard to chew very rubbery.....took a whole minute to chew one bite.....maybe I should have asked for blue moon steak to get a medium steak in reality.Aside that, the chilli chicken was star of my buffer experience. It was soo juicy and succulent, I took 3 rounds of that. Lots of other dishes to choose from.The sheekh kebab also has to be something to take care of. It was lamb one but the meat had a raw smell and spices were dominating on top of the kebab but barely inside the meat.A good variety of foods, dessert section was nice as well...dipping marshmallow under chocolate fountain was a nice experience. A seafood tray ( u gotta ask) of baby octopus, shrimps fried was a delicacy.Service : Their staff are very nice. They always take care of how my experience was.

It was one of the best places in Scottsland to visit if you love to eat. You can get unlimited food of all kinds for around £20 and we had over £50 worth of tasty food. I think you can also get around 5% discount on your bill if you show your student ID card on working days.

Service was 10/10. Choice of food was great and the food itself was very good. Heavily leaned towards Indian cuisine which is no bad thing. Masala Dosa and Seekh Kebab were made fresh to order and they were excellent, if not a little too spicy. Had to take time for my mouth to cool down but I ate it all because it was so tasty. Chicken Tikka was my favourite and the homemade warm Gulabjamun were amazing!

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mr Basrai's. It's still a buffet and it's still (in my opinion) a smidge overpriced because of that. But the sheer variety and quality on offer is impressive. Certainly better than a number of takeaways I've had!
