Swansea Bay Yarns

I brought two simple projects with me on a trip from Hawaii because I wanted to pay attention to the trip, not focus on challenging patterns. Of course I ran into trouble with both, so, needing a new circular needle and advice, I headed to Swansea Bay Yarns. (Not that I really need an excuse to visit a yarn shop!) I could not have been more delighted! They have a terrific selection of needles and of a lovely variety of yarn from lace to sock to bulky, in wonderful colors. They are one of two stores to carry Birdstreet yarn, a beautifully variegated yarn made in Wales, and worth a trip by itself. In fact, I would say that the whole shop is worth a trip by itself. It is in charming Mumbles, has a most helpful proprietor, and a terrific selection of yarn and needles. It is bright and cheerful, and just the way a yarn shop should be. What more could you ask for?

So glad Swansea Bay Yarns has moved to a new location in Mumbles! This is the place to come if you are a dedicated or beginner knitter or chrocheter! SBY is full of tempting quality yarns - stocking top brands. The owners give a warm welcome and great advice. It's thanks to them that I have become a bit of a yarn addict myself who loves knitting socks. I learnt how to knit socks at SBY and am already booked in to their next workshop! If you are planning to come to Mumbles or the Gower, this is a must visit destination. On a rainy day you could even take in a class that will give you a great experience of these traditional crafts.

A wonderful shop with a wide variety of wools and yarns, plus an incredibly helpful and friendly staff team. You could get lost in there for hours honestly. Very much looking forward to my next visit!

Great place to browse beautiful yarns. Some real gems here along with loads of classic favourites. A knitters paradise.

I visited the shop in Mumbles this week to look for inspiration for a scarf/wrap.It's a new shop which is very well stocked, light & airy .. Isometimes find wool shops to be quite claustrophobic!Morgan was, as usual, extremely helpful & knowledgeable & I left with some mohair wool !I TRY not to have too many projects on the go"

Good selection of yarns from good quality suppliers. Prices are good. Two ladies were friendly and very helpful. Will be back
