We enjoyed lunch and breakfast (the following day) here. On both occasions we were looked after by Harry who was friendly, attentive and very pleasant. On both visits it was very quiet so there wasn't a great deal of atmosphere but the inside is very nicely appointed. It's nice to see a different menu, good beer selection and lovely pastries. The hot chocolate was excellent quality, none of your carburys drinking chocolate here! The fresh orange juice was quite tart, largely I think because of the lemon in it, so it tasted more like lemon with orange, but I appreciate you can't pluck oranges from the tree outside and have a sweet, deep orange like Spain! The paprika chicken was pleasant, quite a kick to the sauce and apple mash which was sweet if very subtle. I enjoyed the blackbirds dessert, needed more kirsch and cherries. The trifle was creamy with nice fresh bananas but a little bland. Breakfast, Turkish eggs, nicely done but lacked flavour and my Cumberland sausage and egg croissant was difficult to eat as a bun, without knife and fork. Curry ketchup very tasty. All in all we enjoyed it and will return to try more of the menu, I only wish bircher muesli was on the breakfast selection! Beautiful pastries and croissants.Breakfast on 14 Oct, looked after very well by Shanice. Delicious full English equivalent, great quality, fresh ingredients, served on a hot plate! Fresh orange juice sweet and delicious (an improvement from my first review). OH had the veggie breakfast and really enjoyed it. Nice music, clean and welcoming environment. This place should be busier than it is!

We've been looking for Bavarian cuisine and AS Birmingham gave us more! From the food options to the ambiance, and very friendly dining experience, it's like taking us back to Munich! Best service and value in town. Highly recommended!

A great Christmas afternoon/evening out for our work Christmas party! The Christmas set menu was good and the service from our young waiter Harry was first class! He was so attentive and helpful! Thank you for accommodating us with the menu request and being a great host! Keep up the great work.

Our visit to Alberts Schloss German Pub left a very mixed impression. We chose this venue to celebrate a friend's birthday on a quiet Tuesday, which suited our preferences. However, confusion arose when we were instructed to order drinks at the bar, yet no staff were present at the bar. After a 5-minute search, we sought out a waiter to place our drink order, which included 2 glasses wine and a jug of water without ice.Even though we ordered at the bar, we were informed that the drink charges would be added to our bill, leaving us puzzled about the purpose of the bar order. This initial confusion set the tone for what followed. The wine glasses arrived very quickly but water was nowhere to be seen. 10 minutes later I went to look for the waiter and ordered the water again - jug of water without ice, the waiter assured me that the water is on the way.5 minutes later - still no water. I went to look for the waiter again and I could not find him anywhere. The place was nearly empty so this was very strange. At this point 2 people sat at the table looked at me and asked if they could help me. I said, yes I just want some water. Turns out they were staff or managers, but at least the water finally came - with ice... At this point I could not care less about the ice, I just wanted some water.During the whole water fiasco we ordered some food - Chicken Schnitzel and a Burger. The water arrived at the same time as food. Unfortunately the food was very bland and I was feeling unwell for 2 days after having the Chicken Schnitzel. To make the matters worse there was a woman with 2 toddlers who were screaming at the top of their lungs, the mother wasn't even watching them, one of the kids was 15m from her rolling on the floor and screaming whilst she was having a drink at her table. This is not a kids will be kids situation, it was unbearable for everyone there. Initially we intended to spend a few hours there and I nearly went for a bottle of wine, but I am glad that we didn't as I could not wait to leave. While the interior and initial expectations were promising, our overall experience fell short. The intention to spend a leisurely few hours turned into a hasty exitIn conclusion, Alberts Schloss German Pub has potential, but improvements are needed to ensure smoother service, better food quality, and a more pleasant atmosphere for all. At this point, I would consider revisiting for the ambiance but would hesitate to dine there again due to lingering concerns about the food quality.
