The Jug And Glass
We were warmly welcomed by this traditional Derbyshire pub, serving good beer, and food in generous portions. Food ranged from sharing platters with lovely sourdough bread, to melt in the mouth beef, to gammon steak, to fish chowder, to 'not chicken' (proper) pie. Service was comfortably unhurried. There is covered outside space, which, while roadside, is a quiet village lane. Visited by locals and tourists alike.

Our pit stop for our walking group last Tues 7th. We didn't have anything substantial, just drinks & a bowl of homemade vegetable soup, it was served with a warm roll, both delicious. The pub had a nice ambience & the service was good, altogether a good experience thank you.

One of the best pub meals I've had in a long time. The beef was exquisite as was the mash, and the steak pie that my dad had was equally delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Finally, the desserts were top notch. Highly recommend!

Really good food and the service was great. Bathroom needs a bit of reworking in the sense that the sink is particularly close to the loo! But hey if thats the only fault I can find then it's a winner in my mind. Staff were really helpful and the location was good

We had a lovely night's stay. The staff were pleasant. The room was nicely presented. We enjoyed the beer. Had tasty beef baps for lunch, delicious steak pie for dinner (husband enjoyed fish and chips) and great porridge with fruit for breakfast (husband had the full English)

Stayed here for one night. If you want to get away from the hussle and bustle this is the perfect get away. We ate dinner and breakfast, both were delicious, especially the warm bread. The rooms were clean, spacious and well decorated. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend this pub, well worth a visit.

Amazing food. I had the slow cooked beef with mash, veg and brandy cream sauce. My partner has the Italian spicy pizza.I was stuffed, it was amazing, the beef just fell apart and the mash and veg all cooked well and the sauce went really well.Definitely recommend and will go back if I'm ever in the area again.
