The Briar Campsite
I booked a sans-electricity tent pitch for three nights at The Briar Campsite. It was easy to find and precisely as advertised. Very much a no-nonsense site, not crowded, clean lavatory and shower facility, plenty of space, quiet, no light pollution at night (the full moon and Ursa Major right overhead were amazing) and very affordable. Proprietor John Davies gave me a pleasant welcome and it turned out that he too is a keen sailor (sailing International One Design). In all a good stay and I would recommend the Briar Campsite to you.

Spent one night coming from the boat (Harwich). Very friendly reception by John and his dog Finn, plenty of room on the large field. True that there is only one toilet and shower - perfectly clean. Not a problem since there weren't too many people. Will definitely use this campsite again on a future camping trip!

Perfect stopover if you’re going to/from the ferry at Harwich - just 30 mins away from the port. Feels very quiet and out of the way, both in terms of location and atmosphere. Only one toilet/shower but both times we stayed there weren’t many other campers and it wasn’t a problem, facilities were very clean too.

Absolute peach of a site, only stayed for the night but Jon and Cheryl were really welcoming and understanding after having an issue with our camper meaning we had to cancel last minute. Level flat grass site, all the facilities you'd need without being over compensating, quite and peaceful very much a wild camping vibe but with the ability to take a shower, we'll definitely be back.

The Briar Campsite
Lovely place, nice and quiet with a real friendly feel. The owner was personable and facilities good for a small site. We used for Alton water which is only 10 min drive away. Great stay will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We had a very warm welcoming from John, Cheryl & Finn during a very stressful event ( fire brigade ). Thankfully the fire was all under control. Thanks for the beers too.Great site, beautiful walks, dog friendly. Definitely will return

Perfect, quiet and accessible to A14 and A12 for Felixstowe Sea Front, right right on the doorstep of Constable Country, Colchester for shopping and all that Essex and South Suffolk has to offer. Just south of Ipswich for anyone coming in via Harwich from the continent. Lovely host in a quiet village with a local community owned pub with play park while parents enjoy a good selection of drinks with good food just three minutes walk away. Lovely approachable hosts on-site, with toilet, shower, Elsan and recycling bins with electric hook up and a nice grass plot. Lovely, and a great price.

Cycle toured through for one night.Lovely place. Only one toilet so i'd be a bit nervous if I was suffering from diarrhea.Shower was nice and hot.Nice a d quiet apart from the bird song. No feral children running about which was a bonus.

Come for a weekend with fellow motorcyclists and were made to feel very welcome by John and his wife. Nice clean site with clean toilet and shower, now looking at booking again in a couple of weeks time.

The Briar Campsite
Way overpriced. in Camper and caravan club book £11 to£18.00. Arrived and it was£25. Level field, only. One unit only with toilet, shower and wash basin combined. Just me on site but if busy and shower in use ...no toilet. Spotlessly clean though.
