GOLDEN ORIENT Chinese Takeaway

This is a great Chinese takeaway and always our first choice. Food wise it’s fantasticThey just need to stop accepting orders when they are too busy to cope. For some reason they keep accepting them and on my last order 45 minutes turned until just short of 3 hours. Phoned three times and was told it would be 20 mins, was on its way etc but that clearly was not the case. I ordered at 7:30pm and the food turned up about 10:20pm. Nobody wanted to eat it at that time. It was also lukewarm.If they’d just been honest I’d have ordered elsewhere and then tried them again next time. Just be honest please!!!

So we ordered £40 worth of food for a family take away, 90 minutes later I called to chase the order abd a very young voice said it would be 15 minutes. I was that concerned that I had called the wrong place that I asked who she was and it was a 13 year old girl from one of the staff.In total we waited 2 hours and the full order didn't arrive. I called and they sent the remaining order in 25 minutes.They really need to stop taking new orders if the can't fulliful them.Food was average but I would of ate my dog I was that hunger!!Won't be revisiting sorry

They use non-food safe cleaning items!Got a takeaway from here in june- first takeaway for months. My 3yr old aswell as me and my mum were eating this. I was eating my spring roll and I pulled a metal wire out of my throat!! There was a wire from a wire scourer pad inside my spring roll! We called the restaurant and tried to explain the situation(we thought perhaps a problem with their suppliers) to be told it's not possible and basically called liars. They admitted making the spring rolls in store. Wire scourers are not food safe and this is one reason why! I'd hate to think of how it even got into my food. Lucky my 3yr old didn't eat the one I ate otherwise I don't know what may have happened! Was only offered discount for next order when we told them we were not happy and wasn't going to eat the food. Customer service appalling and we didn't eat the rest of the food as was worried it was contaminated. Would have gone to the restaurant to take the food back and show them but id just had a baby(c-section) and was unable to drive at the time. Put me off takeouts. I hope they take food saftey/hygiene more seriously as this could be fatal to someone in the future(choking). I work in food myself and was so shocked by this and the way they dealt with our complaint.Even without the issue I would not have ordered again from here- the order was late, and the food we actually ate which wasnt much was just average if that..

Waited over an hr and a half for delivery.Not happy at all. If you’re considering ordering pay cash only because at least then you can deduct some for their lateness which they won’t tell you about at the time of order. 45 mins easily gets doubled despite the fact it’s not even a weekend!

I always enjoy the food but this time I didn't enjoy the over 2hr wait for my food I ordered. Ordered via the website but in the end went to pick it up.They took on too many orders then they could have coped with on Christmas eve.So I will not be going back on a bank holiday.

ordered, arrived piping hot, fresh crunchy steamed veg, egg fried rice -very good quality cooking, all the dishes with unique sauces and tastes with spices-compliments to the chef:). Arrived 30 mins sooner was estimated 1 hour, set the table door bell rang with COVID-19 restrictions -delivery was still with a smile and wave-at a distance. Thanks to the whole team behind what is and was a real treat. Will be talking about this meal for a long time- still loads left, so surprising. This was a classy takeout with loved ones - thoroughly enjoyed. Virtual hugs and thanks ;)

I would strongly advise against using this takeaway. We placed an order at 7.15pm, the order arrived 45 minutes later but it was only half there. The driver took it away and when he returned we had someone else's order. On ringing the shop we were told that they didn't know where our food was ! To cut a long story short we finally went onto Uber and ate at 10.45pm.A word of advise don't use this takeaway and by the way they offered a bottle of coke as compensation for a ruined evening with friends.An absolute joke !!

I have ordered from this takeaway quite a few time's but this time will be the last ! Poor food poor customer service . Just under 30 worth of food arrived I plated the food started eating the sauce on our crispy beef had a fusty taste too it . And the pork in our house rice was just pure fat . Completely put us of our meals after 2 mouth fulls . I called the takeaway to try and resolve the issue I explained that issues we had and also that we didn't want to read order our door again . Told them I was quite happy for the food to be returned to them as it was not eaten just plated up so they could see taste for them self the issue the meal had . But the lady on the phone was shouting at her children in the bak ground in stead of dealing with the issue I got cut off 2 times . I finally got a resolution which is they said is all they could offer which was to redeliver the dished we had ordered . And when I explained again that I didn't want to consume food from them again she started yelling in Chinese to some one in the back ground and I asked if they could come collect the the food and issue a refund only for the 2 dishes that had a fault . And was told no !!! . Will not be ordering from this place again .
