North Weald Veterinary Surgery

This is a great small vetinary in Noth Weald. We have been going here for 20 years and despite some changes still provide a great service. Our small dog recently went for surgery to his eye lid and the vetinary nurses were great. Of course it was expensive but the service was good with careful follow up and advice for aftercare. Well recommended as a family vet service

They are excellent vets. The vet we saw was very kind and warm and knew I was anxious and explained everything fully. She was extremely competent and really looked my dog Holly

Emily is an appalling vet, doesn’t explain anything, expects owner to hold pet for injection, doesn’t weigh pet and wants you to do it yourself in the corridor, doesn’t even say bye when you leave the room. She basically expects you to do everything yourself. Why is she working there?? Very poor. Everything else has also changed since new administration, and for the worse!! It used to be a brilliant vets, such a shame it’s not the case any longer.

Absolutely disgusted with this vets. It has really gone downhill.I moved to a new vets 3 months ago but their vet was off sick so they advised to try my previous vets as she believed my rabbit needed urgent treatment.I called at 6pm and they booked me in for an emergency appt at 6.40 (receptionist knew this is earliest I would be able to arrive even though it was after closing and said she would add me onto the end of the day).I left immediately and got there at 6.43 only to find the vets was closed. After knocking and trying to phone for over 5mins a vet finally poked her head out the front door and refused to see me as they don't stay after 6.30.... But then why on earth did the receptionist book me in then and let me drive 43mins with a very poorly rabbit?!??!I was distraught and didn't know what to do now at which point upon closing the door on me, the vet said to drive to Epping and find a vet there. The epping vets were amazing and did treat my bunny straight away but at an out of hours cost of £360 at it was now gone 7pm.I just couldn't believe they let me drive all that way with a sick animal. Not even a phone call to let me know that the receptionist shouldn't have made the appt.Disgusting and completely uncaring response from the lady vet. Do not recommend.

All the staff at the vets are very friendly.They are very sympathetic to any concerns you may have.All All my dogs have gone to Noth Weald vets.Even when my old dogs could no longer go on they dealt with it the situation with much dignity.Would highly recommend the practice.

Really poor service!Bought some flea and worm tablets over the counter, tapped the card to pay, didn’t even check how much, and left. Got a letter 3 months later saying our “account” was overdue £60, we don’t have an “account”. The letter didn’t have any invoice or itemised list, just the amount owed, so no idea what it was for.Rang up to be told we were basically undercharged, but no apology for their mistake, they implied we were delinquent in paying and threatens a £25 late charge. We then receive the itemised costs in a pdf.We then find out we’ve been charged £52 for 3 flea tablets, a quick Google, and the first site we find we can buy the exact same brand and tablets for £20.99. I’m sure there is already profit in the £20.99, so they are clearing more than £30 profit on the £52 charged! Don’t know how they can sleep at night.

Very expensive for the treatment she had. I felt a lack of compassion towards my dog. I found the vet difficult to understand as they appeared to be very stressed. I wasn't very confident they knew what the problem was or how to resolve the issue. I was given medication I didn't really require to add to my expense. Firstly they negotiated a price which i found a bit odd as I didn't have enough to cover the costs immediately upfront. I found the difference of £100 quite excessive for the same treatment.

If I could give 0 stars I would.Both my cats went into be spayed, they were given a head cone with no alternative as no recovery suits in stock.One of the cats was stuffed tightly into a suit that was at least two size too small, her tail and legs stuffed in we had a 15 min car journey home without noticing and her meowing thinking it was from stress of being in the car but it was because she was uncomfortable in the suit!!!We had to physically cut the suit to relieve her discomfort. We called the surgery and they said there was no alternative and they weren’t even sorry about what had happened.
