I'm not a regular visitor but have visited 2 Saturdays on a trot this year. I understand the shorter hours on a Saturday are there but still feel 2pm is way too early to close. However for staff to start announcing intention to close and ushering people out half hour to 45 mins ahead of 2pm is unnacceptable. From what i saw, they do it well as they get most of the visitors out by 1.45pm. I understand Saturday staff want to get away, but at least try and be professional instead of 'clock watching'. The children's part of the library is loud, however, adults are reading to young children which has to be allowed I suppose. Though a reduction in noise levels is needed. The process of returning and taking out books has been better than ever - the technology is working well!

It's always fun to go because they have books that Whsmith and Waterstones don't have. However not all the books are in date, and they need to update the books and longer Saturday hours. 10-2 is not fair for people who work all week and don't have a computer at home. Other than that, it's awesome.

Is there anything in Blackburn Town Centre that the Council doesn’t own?And much of it is left to rot. Across the road, the courts, old police station, King George’s Hall and the old Elementary School quadrant could’ve been sold off as a hotel/spa complex. It has a swimming pool already which will need a lot of refurbishment but not a total rebuild.Blackburn has never had a creative side to the way it manages its buildings, which is strange as it’s been controlled by the left since at least WW2, maybe WW1.So they not good at their strength, and obviously not good at what the right it, managing and maintaining.A lot of money wasted on this town, which is better, but with that money in compétant hands, it’d be an awesome , vibrant place.Sad.

We attended the Superhero Saturday event. It was so good! Really well thought out and organised, kept the children (and adults) engaged and learning and was just loads of fun. The staff were really welcoming and great at engaging all the children and meeting them at their level. Super Sally deserves a mention, for being the best sport and allowing all the kids to pelt her with water bombs. We've really enjoyed coming to the library and I hope there are more events like this in the future.

The only problem I have is staff doesn't seem to be strict against loud people. Usually there are people who would talk to their phones really loud and I can hear their conversations even a few yards away. Kinda annoying and disrupting to people who just wants a quiet place to read.Other than that, this library is lovely.Lots of books and chairs and helpful staff.

An oasis of culture,a reminder that collectively we can achieve so much. Access to literature and knowledge is the very basis of civilised society and is the complete antidote to the clickbait toktik contemporaneous and often pseudo pleasures of this world. Be influenced only by non commercial recommendations , seek out the last bastion of community in a world motivated by the commercial.Look no further than Blackburn library.
