DO NOT BUY from this garage! My sister bought her first car from this dealership. The customer service during the sale was absolutely top notch. The car needed a new battery which they said they will replace before they gave us the car. Mike (one of the owners) told us that if he’s not 100% happy with the car, he won’t sell it to us, he’ll make sure it’s in perfect mechanical condition. We told him we need a reliable car because she’ll need it to drive to uni and back home. He said he would give us the car only if he was happy for his daughter to drive it too. Listening to him talk we thought, wow this guy seems really honest and genuine.THREE WEEKS LATER, my sisters car has broken down. Bearing in mind that she probably hadn’t even driven the car more than 100 miles. We called H&D motors, they said there’s nothing they can do as they only deal in sales and for us to contact the warranty company or take it to a local garage.THE WARRANTY IS RUBBISH. Don’t bother with it, it’s just a selling point. They want you to take the car to their specified garage. IF YOU CANT DRIVE IT, ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. Then you have to pay to diagnose the issue, and if it’s not covered by the warranty (most things aren’t) you have to pay for it.So we paid another £150 for the car to be towed and taken to a local garage only for them to tell us the car has THE WRONG EXHAUST PIPE fitted on. This cost us another almost £300 to fix.Perfect mechanical condition? And with the wrong exhaust pipe. What a joke. Avoid this place! Will definitely not recommend to anybody. Please go to a reputable dealer and not one that has good customer service when they want your money. Because after you’ve bought your car, you are not their problem anymore.

I bought a Peugeot for a family member from here. I met Richard and Mick, they're really nice guys, friendly, easy going, no sales pressure.Everything agreed was provided promptly and efficiently.Delivered the car to my home, which is 2 hours away from them.Recommended.

Possible fraud! Be careful!!!!I enquired about a golf that they had in stock. I asked about a warrantee which they said they don’t provide for older cars. Suspect. Then when I brought up the discrepancy with the Mileage (hpi check showed it had been clocked back 2000 miles at some point. Who knows how many more times that had occurred)He went on to show me the service book which had a different mileage noted down. He continued to tell me I was wrong. And that it must be human error.Be careful buying from here. Sure a lot of the cats have been tampered withAnswer to owners response:Funny how backtracking indicates the lies confirmed. When I mentioned the mileage discrepancy you said there was no such thing. Now you’re admitting in 2008 there is a discrepancy. Then when I asked you about whether you guys did a hpi check for the vehicle, you said slightly reluctantly that you didn’t bother as you trusted the the seller. So if you didn’t do a hpi check how do you see the same discrepancy I did.I’m just very grateful I didn’t buy my car here and wasted hard earned money.

Very helpful and friendly staff from the start and after the sale, helping me to fix a slight electrical issue with the gearbox (just a sensor, nothing too serious!, don't let this put anyone off). Car was sold with a 12 month warranty, free as standard, which is unusual for 2nd hand cars. Any problems, you can just talk to them. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy good quality cars with excellent aftersale care. Very pleased with our new car, Thankyou guys!

exchanged my 2005 golf(82000 miles) for a 2013 kia soul(17000miles)- 6500 minus 500£=I paid 6000£. I had done my own research and checks before buying. Engine management light came on a day after buying-got it checked at local kia dealer-luckily just a loose contact, fixed for 120£ including labour costs. HD provide me with a warranty-from previous experience I know this is not worth the piece of paper its printed on. Could have got a few hundred pounds more for my car if I had sold it privately-but the dealer was quite honest about this. As of now, love my new old car-have done about 1000 miles-excellent driver, decent tech, leather seats. I do not blame used car dealers when cars break down- there is a limit to which you can know the reliability of a used car. I do become very unhappy when they fail to take ownership when something goes wrong so soon after buying as in my case(thank goodness it was a minor fault). I do not know if HD would have taken ownership if something serious had gone wrong with this car. Based on the previous experience of people I know and myself, if this happens, be prepared for a long fight. BTW, I did keep an eye out of curiosity to see how much my old golf would sell for and it sold for about 2400£-not a bad bargain for them, but TBH, looks like they did quite a bit of work on it- no idea how much it would have cost them, but I have a feeling they would have made a sizeable profit percentage wise- I do not begrudge them for this, on the other hand, well done for getting my old car back into such good shape. It was a solid driver, but had significant repairs like body work. If my kia continues to drive like this, I'll be over the moon, but the shock when the engine lights came on has left me a bit traumatized. Plus, I am yet to receive the new log book-wonder if HD has sorted what needs to be done for this from their end.5/8/21-received the vehicle log book-thanks HD. upping your score from 3 to 4 stars.

I WOULD RATE THIS 0 STARS IF POSSIBLE!!! I purchased a car at the beginning of 2016, I was 20 at the time and it was my first car so I was understandably very excited however buying from this dealership completely ruined my first driving experience. The car I purchased was a black 07 plate corsa and cost me £3300, within 3 months of buying this car I had to return to the dealership 3/4 times, the head gasket had gone and the electronics would cut out. The final straw came after a near collision, I was driving down dual carriage way and the car completely shut down, I had no power and had no idea what to do, a car came up behind me at speed not realizing that I had broken down and was inches away from going up the back of my car, it completely petrified me and the other driver. I then had to push the car to a close by petrol garage and wait for H & D motors to collect the car which took them well over a week. They then tried to tell me nothing was wrong the vehicle. I asked to return the car as it was unfit to drive but the dealership declined and refused to give me any money back, after a lot of back and forth arguments they finally agreed to take the car and give me a refund of £2800, losing me £500 (money that had taken me years to save to afford a car). Almost 2 years later I've finally plucked up the courage and money to get back on the roads and have taken time in choosing a reliable garage. Buying your first car is meant to be exciting but unfortunately for me it was not. As a young woman they did not take me or my concerns seriously. When passing this dealership a few days later that Corsa was sat back on the forecourt with a for sale sign sat in it's window. I pray that whoever purchased this car after me had better luck than I did. I urge anyone to NOT buy from this dealership.

Be very careful if you consider buying a car from this dealership - from my experience and looking at other google reviews, I think that a lot of the cars they sell have hidden faults, even if the hpi check is clear. As I bought one of their more expensive cars at the time, I didn't experience anything terrible, but not long after owning the car several issues arose. For example, they had done a good (but ultimately not good enough!) job of disguising bodywork damage on one side of the car. Additionally, it became apparent that the car hadn't been properly serviced or looked after for a long time - mechanics pointed out issues including a run-flat tyre that was mysteriously left on the car (not safe to use long-term in conjunction with normal tyres), brake fluid that was well overdue a replacement, and other servicing issues that essentially meant the car wasn't particularly safe and its performance was being hampered (mpg increased by quite a bit after servicing!).Unless you get a very good deal and the car seems to be in a good enough condition, I think you are better off spending more money elsewhere to ensure you end up with a solid car with a good history.

My 18 year old son purchased a car from this dealer at the end of November 21 within a month and after doing only 400 miles the engine warning light came on. Taken to local garage to discover it needed a full service, had an engine misfire, wrong and insufficient battery, no battery clamp, missing pollen covers and required a new auxiliary belt. Cost £500, advised by dealer it was general wear and tear and that car had been sold in an appropriate state. Warranty company advise the faults were the responsibility of the dealer. Subsequently pushed from pillar to post. Dealer advised would reimburse some costs once invoice provided as a “gesture of goodwill”. Alas not even acknowledgement of invoice. Seemingly 400 miles and 4 weeks use is wear and tear to the sum of £500 and the warranty is worthless. Avoid.
