Shobdon Airfield

Shobdon aerodrome is great to visit for aircraft watching, get trial flights and learn to fly.It also has good facilities such as the cafe, very good food and clean loos so worthwhile for that alone. Also there's a nice rest room along from the cafe. There's free parking though if you park alongside the taxiway areas you can only park in front of the grass fenced area outside the cafe.There is a large grass area alongside the cafe accessed via the drive which is safer.There are events held here and it's best to check with the airfield team for that.Trial flights and learning to fly are available, the relevant companies are on site for that.They hold large events here such as fly-ins and fairs etc, info can be found easily on site or in the local papers.All in all it's a great place to visit, aircraft watch, have a meal, go to an event or just go flying!

Worth a visit! Lovely cafe with amazing food. Very reasonably priced. Lots of space to sit outside and watch aircrafts and gliders. Enough parking available.

Great place for refreshments and watching the planes,

Fun afternoon watching the small planes take off & land. Some excitement when an air ambulance landed for a quick re-fuel with a patient on board. Amazing how they do it all so quickly. Café/restaurant with toilets, outdoor seating included a covered area and dogs bowls dotted about for a canine friendly experience.

Well worth a visit. Excellent place to spend a couple of hours watching planes. Nice outside seating area and a good cafe. Interesting history as a WW2 glider training base and there's an impressive memorial near the hangar.

Easy phone call for PPR. Busy in the circuit but easy to fit in with the help of the tower. Plenty of parking area with nicely cut short grass. Friendly office staff easy to pay and straight in for a full English in the cafe. Very good airfield all round well done....o e you must visit.....

Plenty of parking space for plane spotting or visiting the superb cafe for a cup of tea & a bacon & egg sandwich!All sorts of flight experiences available. Aeroplane, microlight, Gyrocopter and helicopter.

Had a flying lesson here. Was incredible and I was taught a lot. There is a lovely Café as well. A great place to take the family to watch the planes and helicopters! Amazing!

Interesting watching the aircraft depart and arrive. Meg's cafe was lovely. Welcoming, good food and great seating space outside to view the runway.
