This operation in the Charles Napier offers an excellent choice of, what I think, value for money Thai. We had the platter to share as a starter, I had a green curry, my friend had spring rolls. We were at the tail-end of a busy evening so it was a little slow and 1 order was forgotten. It happens, but it doesn't take away from the good food. Wines over the bar are reasonably priced.

Visited for midweek evening meal. First impressions were pleasing on choice of décor. Spacious and cosy at same time. Menu offers for different nights. Barman very jolly and served us promptly. Husband had the long bone of beef and I had the gammon steak. Both were beautifully cooked. Would visit again.

Today we visited Bella Italia we're in the area for a conference my colleague has her children with her so opted for somewhere they enjoy. Our waiter assumed because we were 2 females with kids out on father's day that we were gay! Which became obvious during our meal. The toilets were scruffyMy chicken was burnt and therefore rather than serve it they delayed it coming out and served me later than the rest of my table but when it arrived it was very good. One waiter forgot our order of extra drinks for the kids again rectified by Vojtech promptly when told so very good service by this individual. Then a female waitress proceeded to jump up on the bar in a short shirt leaving nothing to the imagination so we asked for the bill because we didn't appreciate the view (she actually apologised when she realised but then did not move and continued to stand there). It was awkward and that is being kind. Our waiter then commented that we must be enjoying it (the up skirt view) it was then i felt i needed to explain he had made an incorrect assumption very embarrassing for him and for us!Overall the food was great when it came and the atmosphere was good.Perhaps the staff should think about their attire if they need to climb around on top of the bar and not assume or be judgemental. Thankfully we have laughed it off whereas other people might not be so forgiving! We will go back I am sure as we're here for a week and overall without the embarrassing situation and up skirt palava we had a great time and enjoyed the food. Generally Vojtech went over and above with his service.

stopped off at the Amsterdam for dinner it was always a nice place but has recently had a refurbishment. the place looks a feels good more of a pub now than just a restaurant but the food is very good. great choice on the menu friendly staff quick service. we had the sharing platter which was really good highly recommend that and the salted caramel bar with cream is to die for. definitely be going there again
